: Thinking about getting cutouts!

So I've got kooks 1-3/4" headers, no cats, and a Magnaflow exhaust.

But I've found that it's not as loud as I'm wanting. I have been thinking of getting electric cutouts that I can open up when I want to but also because I'd still like to cruise without too much noise (so I'll close them up).

I know a few members on the forum have installed DMH cutouts. Can anyone who has them chime in and let me know how you like them? Do they still seal tight over all the miles you've put on them.

Does anyone have any other electric cutouts that they can recommend?

http://www.dmhperformance.com/ecutout.htm I'm planning on getting the duals and can't decide if I should add any extra exhaust piping and turn them down or just let them run straight off of the solenoid valve...

Awesome thanks! I knew I had seen some low-profile ones but wasn't sure where I had seen them.

I wonder why they aren't on DMH's website??

I have seen a couple of theses cutouts on 2010 camaros. both cars when closed rattled like a tin can, you had to hold the button for it to fully close then when you released it had done the same thing rattle. There is a company called "race ready performance" that offers a lifetime warranty unlike the other ones I have seen.

I just received my DMH low pro cutouts. Will be installing them this month. They are the way to go for sure.

whisler, where did you buy yours from? GSS?

My local shop said that they buy their cutouts from "Stainless Works" and I noticed that they actually use the DMH low profile cutout as the actual electric cutout.

I got mine from Maryland Speed. It took about 2.5 weeks for me to get them.

There was a new member on here that posted up pics of his car. He had his cut outs right before the rear mufflers. You probably wouldnt gain any power with them back that far, but for sound purposes it was a great idea. No exhaust coming up in the windows and it looked killer! I tried finding the pics but didnt have any luck...

Thanks CI-V-IL, I'm probably going to mount them where my stock cats used to be but only because I really want to maximize the "bat-out-of-hell" sound at the flick of a switch. I'm already running without cats so I've gotten pretty used to the stinky smell of raw gasoline. My girlfriend hates it but I secretly like it. Reminds me of my dad's old muscle cars.

You have just hit that loudness where you slowly loose your hearing so you have to keep notching it up...:banghead:

cutouts would be fun though...

Maybe Dan...I feel the same way about my stereo actually

Does anyone have any suggestions on where I should mount the switch in the cabin?
