: Greetings fellow CTS-V brethren....a few questions before getting my V.

This forum has been such a great collective source of information for me and also a collective drain on my bank account. :annoyed: Too many good things to buy for the V. After lurking for several weeks and absorbing as much information as humanly possible, it looks like my CTS-V coupe will be arriving this week. I'm coming from a modded C6 Z06 vette and I've already researched the performance enhancements available for the coupe. Here's what has either already been ordered or will be ordered as soon as I find a decent supplier:

1. Corsa sport exhaust (may be perfect for me or a little too loud...we'll see.)
2. Kooks headers
3. Airaid CAI
4. Springs (Eibach or D3)
5. 3M clear bra

I took the recommendation of a fellow forum member and used James Quinn as my salesman. He has been nothing short of professional and informative. I am taking a courtesy delivery at Lindsay Cadillac in Virginia. I have drove them nuts with INSISTING that I be there for the PDI and for them to NOT install the front license plate bracket. I just hope I get no rock chips before the clear bra goes on.:suspect:

Questions I have:
a. Is the V coupe susceptible to the sunroof leak issues discussed here? I believe it is a different design.
b. Are the rod position sensors not required with the Eibach springs? D3 uses them so I want to know the risks without using those sensors. Mag ride input?
c. I will definitely get the front grills painted satin graphite.....will they withstand powder coating temperatures?
d. Can you wrap the scratch susceptible console in alcantara or cover it with a clear bra material?
e. Anyone Scotchguard the saffron inserts?

I know I will enjoy the car tremendously as I've enjoyed my vette in the past.

Two weeks after getting married, the vette and I departed ways.....hence the new V. It was not a good night:

Everything is all good now and it's time for me to enjoy the new V coupe. I opted for white with wood trim, sunroof, sueded wheel/shifter, satin graphite wheels, Recaros and saffron/ebony interior......let the fun begin :yup:

Also..........I've had a very hard time deciding on the proper wheel I want to add to the car. I had HRE's on the vette and liked them. I'm looking at Forgeline or possibly ADV.1:

any other ideas would be appreciated.

Congrats and welcome to the forum. Lindsay is my local dealer, and the service and parts department are nothing short of amazing. The Sales Department is another story. You will love the V. Glad you are ok after parting ways with your vette.

Those ADV's you have pictured would look amazing!! I have 360's on order and should have in another 2 weeks. Might I recommend going with 21's. The size is perfect for our cars with the large fenders.
As for the springs, I have the D3's installed and did not use the replacement rods. I have no issues. My friend just order the eibachs for his coupe and we are installing them this weekend so we will be able to do a side by side comparo.

Congrats on a beautiful car. I too came from a Z06 to the coupe and love it.

Boy, you sure tied up traffic.... Glad you were OK. I am looking at possibly a 2011 V Black Diamond Sedan shortly and I am definately going to have the 3m bra done. I did not have it done to my 2010 Thunder Gray and I have a stone chip in hood down near grill. I did use touchup but to me it still jumps out.

Thanks fellas. I got off the phone with the ADV.1 retailer and should have all the specs finalized this afternoon. I am going with a 20" wheel front and back to help counter-balance that J-Lo booty the coupe has. I still want decent ride quality so I'm not sure a 21" will make me happy. Props to the brave that go that aggressive though. ;-)

Dont forget the pulley and tune.

Oh I haven't. Just not sure of which exact combination I will be going with.

....and these little fellas came in today. I ordered the Corsa Touring exhaust from a forum sponsor and these guys will hopefully fit in nicely:

Save your money with the headers if your not adding some boost. Manifolds do a great job upto 600rwhp. This is coming from a guy who has Kooks.

I'll probably keep them in storage. I figured that question would pop up ;-)

Hey, DoingOK, your combining remote cut outs with the Corsa, right? I've considered just the cut outs, but wondered about two things. 1. vehicle warranty 2. os2 sensors
any wisdom.......Thanks

Congrats on the new ride. I hope you can make it out to V Day 5 with your car to share it with all the other coupes, sedans, and wagons that will be there. This will be a great time to talk and compare mods whether you participate or just watch.
