: Warm weather means first major detail of my V

Weather warmed up enough that I felt it time to detail my 2010 Thunder Gray V which I bought last April. Car was daily driver until I covered it in the garage for the winter.

Started with a good wash and than clayed the entire surface. If you never used clay on your car, I suggest you do it. It sounds scary, but it is very easy and the surface becomes smooth as glass. Next I went over the car with ScratchX to remove any swirls or light scratches in the finish. Than 2 coats of Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax which is a new product for 2011.

Next came engine compartment, wheel wells, tires, wheels, and interior. My exhaust tips had the usual built up inside, so I sprayed the inside of the pipes with Quik Wheel Detailer Spray and wiped them out. Than used Mag & Aluminum polish on inside and out.

Now it is so clean I don't want to drive it :).... Now I started the process on my wife's 2009 Stealth Gray Escalade. If anyone is wondering, the 02VEGAS license is because my wife and I were married in Las Vegas in 2002.

All Meguiars Products used:
Micro Fiber White Mitt, Gold Class Car Wash, Hot Wheels Aluminum Wheel, Megs Water Magnet, Clay Kit, DA Polisher, ScratchX, Ultimate Liquid Polish, Endurance Tire Gel, Ultimate Protectant, Natural Shine Spray, Gold Class Rich Leather wipes, APC, Quik Wheel Detailer (for inside of exhaust pipes) Aluminum Polish for engine, wheels, exhaust, and Supreme Shine Microfiber towels.

Forgot to say that I swapped out the stock tail lights and third break light for the Cadillac Euro kit shortly after I bought the car.

Very nice looking! Job well done!! How long did it take you?

Started on a Friday and finished on Sunday. That was not 7-8 hours a day, but I did put in a lot of time. I am real fussy about our cars, so I found that when I start getting to the point where I am rushing in removing wax or maybe missing spots, I stop for the day and go back at it the next day.

Looks good!

I'm jealous. It's finally starting to warm up here, but prolly still a month away from being able to detail mine. I just recently received my Wolfgang Fuzion Concourse polish, wax, and leather conditioner, as well as Turtle Wax CD2 engine detailer. Can't wait to get at it.

Spent about 4 hours today washing and waxing mine. Made the mistake of not folding the windshelds wippers down and opened the hood. That put a small knick at the edge of the hood. Now if I have to stare at each mile I drive. Guess I need some touch up paint.

Never fails, every time detail any of my cars first trip out of the garage a bird sh*ts on it. Whats worse is when I had my Arctic silver M5 it was always black sh*t and on my black V its always white.

Sometimes I swear some one is videoing it.

SO tomorrow my beautiful car will get shat on

Let me know what you think of the Zaino. I've read a lot of people like it.

There is a guy here in Germany with a Black V1 that uses it. I seen his car this weekend and was stunned on how good it looks. No swirls and it looked like glass.
