I would like to know what is a good replacement engine air filter that will not screw up the MAF sensor.

Almost any FRAM, HASTINGS, DELCO, etc, recognized brand names will do. I would stay away from K&N Hi-Performance replacements. I used them for years and stopped, after reading a few tests showing that they def let a little dirt get thru and LONG term engine wear is a real risk. (100K + miles). SHORT term, some GM owners have had their MAP sensor (electronic thingy on air intake snorkel) fouled with oil (K&N uses an light oil film on their element, to catch dirt) and had BIG $$ replacement not covered by warranty....

Having said this, my personal experiences with K&N have all been positive ('03 GMC YUKON, '04 CADDY V-8 SRX, '08 Buick Enclave, '03 GMC V-6 Safari van, '08 Supercharged Grand Prix GTP.) I either had a bit more power (the Safari 4.3L V-6 was incredible!) or no change, except for the convenience of changing/cleaning-re-oiling the filter, at 50K miles instead of 30K.

Now I just change the air filter early (20 K miles) and the breathing is kept optimal and $$ are the same. Good luck.

Thx Rippy. I bet you discount a bit too! I recall paying $45-60 for the different K&N's..............so 2 ACDelco would be about same!

yeah our discount price is $22 (plus some shipping - reasonable shipping though, not like GMPartsDirect's shipping charges)
