Are the coil pack and hcv in the same general vicinity ? Also if someone has any details on what to look for when changing them would be cool Thx

what year catera?? on the 99-01 the heater control valve is behind the center of the engine, easy to see from the passenger side of the car, just look behind the engine at the top.

Ignition coils one on left side and one on right. ont he top of the engine. they are about 1" wide and 12" long black in color. passenger one easy to change.. driver side a lil more tricky to get off.

the coils are held on with funky hex star head bolts. I think 3 per side.

If you change then smear some lub on them so they dont get stuck on the spark plugs.

HCV in same location on both cars, coil is back behind the motor on the driver's side. Easy to get to if u've got everything apart replacing HCV, do them both at the same time if they both need to be done.
