I'll start off by saying I don't know much about engines, nor do I know the majority of the parts, now my seville starts just fine when it's warm though it dies everytime we get below freezing. when the RPMs get around 1600 and higher the engine starts making a loud knocking noise, which gets MUCH louder if I take off the part that holds the air filter (has the long bolt going through to the top and uses a sort of round wing knut to hold it down)... the engine is a 4.1 liter, I have many problems getting up to speed quickly and before finding this site I was sure it was just a problem in the engine now I think it's just the engine... but if i can find a way to stop the knocking sound I'll be happy and not feel so at risk when driving as this is my only vehicle and I'd very much love to restore it.

I'm also looking for a new reservoir for the wiper fluid, I had to take off the old one because the pump's hose inside the tank is broken off and i do not know if I need to get a whole new reservoir or if I can just get it fixed.

the passenger-side front wheel is supposed to have 5 knuts holding the wheel to the umm axle/brakes/car? it has 5 bolts but I can only get 4 knuts on as one of the bolts is severely stripped and only half as long as the rest, can I get this fixed?

I apologize for my lack of automotive knowledge and likewise for my bad terminology, if anyone has any suggestions they'll be greatly appreciated, there is one cadillac dealer near me but I haven't called to see if they do repairs so this is my first step towards restoring my Caddy

one more problem, the computer system frequently flashes "system problem" and occasionally the display blacks out I can't see this is a good thing, easy fix? i really hope...

I did the oil change but my book doesn't say anything about how to reset the computer so it'll stop saying service soon, engine's approximate total miles at 117k since I bought it in October I've driven about 320 miles,

one other question and I'm very sorry for so many but is it normal for the gas consumption to be around 10 mpg? it's a v8 but most the people I've talked to agree that it seems really bad for such a small car

The gas mileage that you are experienceing may be due to many different factors, one of which could be how well the vehicle has been taken care of over the last 25 years the vehicle has been used. For the repairs you are looking for, you should, more than likely, be able to get these performed at a local dealership. I would suggest calling a local Cadillac dealership to see if they might have the parts or the mechanics with the know how to do so and see how much these repairs may cost. I hope that helps you.
