ok so not the worst accident but the worst timely accident the one accident that may have messed up a wonderful planned day

for me it would be 2 years ago Labor day getting ready to head to the Cabin in Gettysburg for a few days have a nice relaxed time just me the dog and a friend

and some jerk that almost ran a stop sign that was in place for a parade at the time backed up into me when the police office told him to stop and go back
no one paid attention to me back there and he rammed into the caddy
causing me 5 hours of trouble delay ones i got back on the road missed the start of the BBQ the ppl in the cabin down the path had planned
spend 3 hours with police for them to tell me the kid had his father van no drivers license and fake insurance lol

so all in all that was the worst timing ever

how about you

its no difrant than someone asking what do you think your next car will be

and then its for sure no difrant than what did you do to your car today

Sorry, but underneath the lack of punctuation and grammar, these are valid points.

Is there really such thing as a timely accident?

no no not really but there are the times when it causes more then a oh im going to be late to my poker game or now i cant go out to lunch with my friends and make it back to work in time

so im looking for the ones that happened that caused more of a darn my vacation got ruined no im going to be late and this is just not the day for this to happen

the day where 3 things went wrong at one time a trifecta so to speak of

no there is no time that a accident is timely but there is the time that it really is bad and can ruin a lot more then just lunch

I don't understand the "timely" thing either.

But, I've only been in one accident in my own vehicle. Weeks after I finished the project 1992 Deville I had (head gaskets), it was totaled when I got rear ended by a 3/4 ton Ford van while on my way to work. His bumper plowed right over the top of mine into the trunk.

Sad thing, it was a beautiful car.

worst accident I've had- some lady cut me off in a turn and took out a motor mount, my engine/ trans seal, and mostly disconnected the engine from the trans (my caddy has a top speed of 15mph accompanied by grinding noises and the engine vibrating on the right side. what made it really bad was state farm refused to find fault, and since the lady who hit me and myself both had the same insurance co., I couldn't sue them for being lazy mofo's. at least I only have about $100 in body damage. (2x1 inch dent in fender and ate up wheel well trim)

see for me if im on my way to the coffee shop or if i where working and on my way to lunch if someone hit me yeah id be pist id be upset
but id get over it

id get over any accident accidents happen

but when it cuasues me to miss out on a vacation or at least miss one of the highlights to my trip then its not something that is timely its more of a ill get over it but not for a long time thing

as to where the others like on the way to Starbucks or on my way home if someone hits me yeah ill be upset but ill get over it quickly cause its an accident and accidents happen

also, figured I'd share some pics of my dads latest accident (a pretty bad one.) mid day on new years. some old lady (87) failed to yield to oncoming traffic while making a left turn. my dad drove through her car at 40mph.
my dads car is the blue olds wagon, and the old ladys car is the cougar.

What a strange thread. I mean an accident, no matter how big, small or whatnot will mess up a "wonderful planned" day but will equally mess up a regular day as well. :cookoo:

$60 bucks on ebay. Suction cups to the windshield like a GPS. Takes SD cards. Great for insurance purposes, crooked cops, posting bad drivers on the internet, etc....

This app for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPod touch (4th generation) can change your iPhone or iPhod to a good temporary dash cam!

the only mounts i have found cover up the camera so i don't know how this would work out to well

The most inconvenient accident for me was back in 1999 in my 89 60S. I was heading back to work from lunch. While waiting for a light to change, I ended up in the middle of a chain rear-ender. Some idiot chick slammed into a car about two or three cars back, pushing each successive car into the one in front of it. Total of about seven or eight cars involved. With all the police crap and everyone exchanging insurance, I was something like an hour late getting back to work. My boss was deeply unthrilled.

The worst accident would by back in 1994 in my 77 SDV. I was broadsided by a full-sized Chevy pickup as I went through an intersection. He was cruising about 50mph and smacked me in the rear passenger door and right rear fender. Spun me a full 360*. The rear door wouldn't open, and it was really banged up, but from inside the car, you couldn't tell anything had happened. The power window even still worked. The truck that hit me was totalled, radiator pushed all the way back into the engine and the whole front end smashed all to hell. He had to be flatbedded away. My Caddy drove away under her own power.

A few years back, drove my Malibu to NJ to visit the family. 2nd day I was there, guy comes through a stop sign in a Sebring and I nailed him right in the front fender. I saw him come through the stop and hit the brakes, and when it happened I thought I might have just missed him because I didn't really feel any impact. But the bumper pushed the fender right back into the driver's door, door was stuck shut. His car was totaled. Wouldn't run, wouldn't shift to neutral. I had a body shop yank my fender so I could open the door and drove the 500 miles back home with no issue.

The funny thing is how fateful that whole day was. I was heading out to have dinner with my cousin. First I forgot my umbrella, back inside to get that. Found my misplaced cell phone, had to get that. Then I got in my car and I didn't have her address... back inside. Only to forget my keys! No, I wasn't speeding because I was late, just delayed 5 minutes by stuff I almost never forget.
