Figured you V Guys would like to see what our big Brother the LS9 makes!

We just dynoed a Stock 2009 C6 ZR1. We will be adding a 2.60" Upper Pulley and a Tune.

Nice numbers! Too bad GM wouldn't put the ZR1 engines in the CTS-V and call it a day. I would guess that if they mass produced the LS9, the cost would come way down even though it is handbuilt. BMW is gunning for the CTS-V with the next-gen M5 and all GM really has to do is shoehorn the LS9 in the CTS-V and send BMW packing. I don't see that happening though.

Yes, very nice indeed. Not to mention the half-ton less weight........

I'd go ahead and put a lower pulley and exhaust on too, while it is there. :)

That would hold me over for about 6 months (if done in October) LOL

Oh, I almost forgot, very nice!

This one has the lingenfelter pulley mod and some porting. Not sure what it dynoed though.

Look at that AFR!!!! There's a boat load more power if you tune it out of the 10:1 region

Why does this stock ZR1 have 100rwhp more than a stock manual V2 (15% drivetrain loss?)

A stock V has 556hp (manual=472rwhp and auto=445rwhp) which is about what my stock manual V (477rwhp) had on a dynojet. A stock ZR1 which is supposed to have 638hp should have 542rwhp (Manual= 15% loss). If that ZR1 has 572rwhp, then it has about 675hp at the crank which sounds too high for stock. Am I wrong with this?

lol, gm really did screw us on the lsa's power. Notice how stock the fuel is pretty aggressive on our v's and yet on the ZR1 is its obviously ready for a tune. I would imagine if you leveled it up to the a/f of the lsa it would be a 100+ hp difference. 556 vs. 630 ha. More like 556 to 650

Vette drivetrain is much more dyno friendly.

2010 LS3 Camaros (CTS-V) dyno lower than 2010 LS3 C6.

Not sure what you are saying here...

If you are saying that the 2010 LS3 Camaro has the LSA engine in it, I believe that is incorrect. It is my belief that the only Camaro with an LSA engine is the newly announced (at the Chicago Auto Show) Camaro ZL1.

But I have never stayed in a Holliday Inn Express...glad to say...

He's talking about the LS3 motor that is in the base Corvette and Camaro SS.

Do you think that's because of the Corvette's driveline setup with the transaxle and what not?

My CTS-V and others have dynoed over 500rwhp stock...guess depends on the Dyno.

Different dynos, different days, different drivetrains.
