I'm looking at this 07 Performance model with a vin of
1G6KD57947U162461
The photos don't show the inside; I need to see the wood steering wheel and shift knob. Can anybody confirm this is a performance model by the vin? It's got 16k miles and he only wants 19,995.

Thanks in advance,

Stu

I still can't tell from the listings if it' a "Performance". It's got the Tuscany leather though.

1SE = performance edition
1SD = Lux III

I believe this also works - VIN position 8:
9 = Performance edition
Y = Other DTS

Proceed with caution. It sounds too good to be true.

I know. It does. It should be at about 27-29k, right?

Check with KBB for pricing in your area. Be sure to get an inspection by a competent mechanic. Determine (by the original in-service date) if it is still under the 4/50 new car warranty. (Well, not if it is a salvage title.) The good news is that I've never seen a 1SD or 1SE used in rental fleets.

You can call any Cadillac dealer or Cadillac customer support to run the VIN. Ask for service and repair history too. Use carfax as well. If you find an accident, call the PD and they should have no problem telling you what damage occurred. I was even to able to find the non-dealer body shop that did the shoddy repair work that I had to redo myself. So much history can be learned before you buy these days. That price is low so I would suspect something. But hey, you might find a killer deal like mine and if you're handy get a nice car for a fraction of the price. Try and get one with a CPO. I've found they are good to get you into the dealer to talk about repairs.

Thanks. I'm too late. The deal was real and the car sold the same night.

Yeah, but the buyer may have bought a problem. TANSTAAFL
