you'd better jump on that quick cause it aint gonna last long, ill guarantee it. my car was owned by the owner of a Pontiac dealership and he was fixin to sell it and i bought it before he had a chance to put a sticker on it, much less give a price. i bought mine for 3k and it is in perfect shape.

Thanks for the info. 108,000 miles is alot, MPG is good, and acceleration is good as well. 0-60 in 8.5 seconds, with only 180 HP??? Yes, 180 HP? Oh well, this car is a sleeper!

What could you do with a little money to make it go faster? K and N intake, exhaust???

Lastly, does it take premium fuel! Just thought of that one. But, I am so GLAD that I got a job, so I can get a car!!! Its been months since I joined this group, I would like to thank everyone on here. I will let you know what transpires out of this. I was lookin at a 92 Crown Vic, but it sold.

This is one awesome car, I would assume it would be purchased within the next 1-2 weeks. Possibly this Saturday we will go out and look at it.

It will be paid with a check, or cash.

But does it take premium??? Im not into racing either, I like to set the cruise and go. But, I do like acceleration, and I thought it was strangely wierd that it had 180 HP for a 5.7 ltr car, anyone else think thats odd???

my 7.0L has 180hp.... that would be more odd.....

.... not about hp.. it is torque.... if it is a '93, it has a regular 350, and not the LT1.... which would add some really nice power... 180 horse is all it was putting out... IIRC it is TBI too (not SFI) bascially, for the time, it's intended purpose, and considering what it does, it is a fine enigne.... if you want it to go fast with after market parts.... well, it is a Chevy 350... the most supported enigne in the world.... go have some fun searching... if you wanted more speed out of the box... you woudl have to look for a '94-'96 with the LT1 (240hp)

I would say go for it.... when you decide to do performance things... do the basics first... getting more air in and out of the engine... intake, cam, exhaust... then maybe intkae manifold, then headers, then..... etc...

Good luck

16, THE '93 HAS THE LO5 , 5.7. IT MUCH EASIER TO MAINTAIN AND MORE RELIABLE THAN THE LT1. THE '94-'96 ARE GOOD CARS BUT THE LT1 HAS BEEN A MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE ENGINE TO FIX WHEN A PROBLEM ARISES, AND FROM WHAT I HEAR THERE HAVE BEEN MANY.
GOOD LUCK. :)

It's not the LT1??? I thought that it was the "Corvette" engine. I was reading a little review on it and it mentioned it had some Cadillac engine that did 0-60 in 8.5 seconds. Is this another engine???

But, I have looked at pictures on ebaymotors.com, and the engine compartment looks easy to work on, not that I would be doing work on. The belts are in the front with components being driven by it, with PLENTY of room to pull stuff out.

I hope nothing comes about the suspension system, if it does I will live with it, or just do passive. Passive shocks are cheap...Maybe 20 or 50 bucks a pop at the local dealer...

Yikes, so what engine does it have then? I think its just the standard sedan...

EDIT: by the way, I checked fueleconomy.gov, and there is only one engine available.

Hey 16:

IF the car is in good condition, that's a fair dealership price; low to middle retail price tag. If you do you research and decide that's what you want, walk into the dealership ready to lay cash on the table.

Look the car over good and find something not at 100% to use to start negotiations. On a '93, there should be a number of items to discuss after a test drive and good walk-a-round inspection. You could probably offer the salesman $3,800 if you show him the cash and be firm. If the dealer won't come down that much, work in some service deals (new front ball joints, shocks, front end alignment, exhaust, etc.) to make up the difference. Look for repairs that will be needed in the very near future. Those repairs will immediatly increase the price you paid for the car. Try to factor them into negotiations. Of course, if the dealer accepts you first offer, you know you could have gone lower.

Find out how long the car has been on the lot. That may also factor into the deal. If it hasn't sold in a few weeks, you are in the drivers seat when negotiating.

Above all, the car has to be worth buying. Good luck, and keep in touch. Let us know how it works out.

A '93 had a 350 with like 180 hp. '94-'96 had the 260 hp "LT1" 350.

The '93 is good. I mean, a good old iron GM 350 is hard to beat. It should be relatively torquey, and have enough power to pull a trailer or something. Plus, there are a lot of aftermarket upgrades you can do to it. They're pretty bulletproof, just not particularly fast.

The later LT1 is better. I think it's the best GM V8 ever, and I've had everything, including three LT1's. It has a lot of power and torque, especially for a big car, and you can easily get one to run 200,000+ miles without a lot of trouble (look at an old Caprice police car that's living it's second life as a taxicab). They're still a good old cast iron Chevy V8, which is better than the aluminum LS() style that they are using now (that's my opinion, but I've had two LS1 cars. The LS1 is considerably faster, though, but if that's what you want, buy a Camaro). Plus, despite more power, the LT1 will do better on gas.

The bottom line is, the '93 should be a little cheaper, and there is nothing wrong with them, so if you like it, go for it!

Hi guys thanks for the info...So, what is the 0-60 time for a 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood??? I only find information on one engine, according to it 0-60 is 8.5 seconds...With 185 hp and 300 torque.

I ran the vin on CarFax, and this came back:

5.7L V8 TBI OHV 16V

I cant find any other info on engines, I always thought the LS1 engines were the 5.7 ltr.

EDIT: Apparently there are two 5.7 ltr engines, they have different power settings. I found the review, and as you guys said, the 94's-96 models are equipped with the LS1. But, I dont care, I will take what I can get.

350 cubic inches = 5.7 liters. My Olds 350 is a 5.7, for example.

94-96 B/D Bodies had the LT1 V8, if they didnt have the base L99 4.3 V8(mainly the Caprice and some 9C1's had that engine)

The LS1 was never used in the B/D Bodies. Just the 'Vette and F Bodies.

I'd wait for a '94-'96 LT1. :welcome:
