I own a 2010 SRX that did not come with the navigation option. I was searching and found someone selling the navigation screen and the whole center climate control unit. I was wondering what it will take to make it work in my srx?

I couldn't help myself on this one. You edited your post to fix a "bobo"? You mean "boo boo"? LOL Which one did you fix? You misspelled "somthing", "definitly", and "warrentty".

somthing : something
definitly : definitely
warrentty : warranty

I beleive that if the wiring is there, once you get the unit in you will need to re code the car. Also you will probally need to have the other car's vin and the theft code from the unit itself. Not sure though. Good luck, I have seen units for about $800 or $900. You may ask some people about how easy it is to remove and replace before you take this on. Also don't forget the antenna. you will need a gps antenna placed somewere.

gps antenna is not a problem, its just coding the system and if the wiring is already there for it.

I'd say, go to your favorite dealer and ask for the procedure for removing and replacing the unit then ask them about coding and what they need. They may look at you funny but insist they check into it. Go for it.

a real Pandora's box..............buy the newest, large, flat panel Garmin. Will work without any wires (chargeable battery) and stick on sunvisor or dash with velcro or universal clamps into airvent. $350. Done. Borrow one for a day. Painless.

so part #25968621 is the radio head unit with nav and dvd. It is on ebay for $800-900. If you check with a dealer it is less than $500, gm parts direcet . com Someone please try this and let us all know if it works.

the only other thing i can think of is using the amp that comes with the nav equipped srxs, which is available from gm for less than $200.

dont think i am going to try to do this retrofit. I use the SRX for getting to and from work and haul my tools in the back. If I go on long trips i just take my BMW M5 anyways.

I own a 2010 srx and I just completed the navi retro fit.. It wasn't easy but it was done.. Took me about a month and a half to figure out the wiring. I had to cut and splice and combine wires, buy 3 pick connectors, and rewire to main radio source. I also bought a special COAX cable ($219) for a stupid cable..

I spent $500 on the HU, 350 on the screen 400 on the bezel, 219 on the coax cable and 200 on the 3 terminals and a month of schematics remapping... I thought it was worth it. I did my 2011 cts coupe but the HU is locked.. Any one know who unlocks those?

I beleive the only way is through the dealer.
