Anybody try this? I'm a couple hundred miles away from my SRX, so I can't check, but can you access the bulbs from the outside? Or do I need peel back the inside liner?

My '08 Lexus IS350 has that look on the rear end and I kinda dig it.

Regards,
Eric

Access from the outside, via flatblade screwdriver. Easy as pie, 2x 194 Multidirectional LED. :D
*shocked!* I actually have no pics of my LED plate lights! I'm going to have to rectify that!

TheCaptain is the SRX LED King! Be sure to check out all his other LED MOD's for the SRX. It's fantastic stuff.

you're inspiring! I just installed the license Led's also. So easy to pop them in from outside the car, and saw them on Ebay for around $5. Had to get my feet wet. LOL

THX.

LOVE IT!!! Captain, can you post a link to the pair you used? How many LEDs come within one bulb? Assuming it's multidirectional?

I found these LEDs on Ebay and bought the Fireflys. Works well. Note the HID's available! Sick.

Yes they are multidirectional, and i haven't seen any evidence of them flickering (as i have seen many other LEDs do in plate lights).

Here's the exact ones i used.
LED 6000K 194's (http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/CornerSide-Marker-LED/White-LED/2-HID-6K-WHITE-SMT-5-p4481039-1-2.html)

Do you know if the same LED lights would work in a CTS, with the same installation? Thanks..

I imagine they would... as long as the CTS uses a 194 Bulb size. These lights are the same size as a normal 194 bulb.

Hey Smokin SRX I tried matching up your eBay link to the SRX for the correct LED Bulbs and all I got was "This part doesn't fit the vehicle you entered." ???? :mad2:

There must be something wrong with their build deal-eo... there should be no fitment problems with a standard T10 LED bulb. Unless it has a pile of LED heads on it.

Captain,

I am new at doing this, please bare with me. Can you tell me how to change the license plate lights? Can I change them from the outside? I just bought a 2011 CTS Coupe and seems to be the same setup as your SRX (at least from the pictures). Thanks in advance.

the SRX may be diff from CTS.. The SRX is easy, from the outside.

Check the CTS Forum. I gotta believe some there did it!
Good luck!

Yea, the SRX at least, a quick flat bladed screwdriver will have you into the lights in seconds. There's tiny little tabs to the sides of the lenses.

I had one just fall out because the tab broke off. :suspense:

Just got my LED's yesterday from V-LEDs. The 6K White that Captain suggested look like they'll be great at night! I had to change them this morning but, I can confirm that they work without flicker(at least so far :suspense:). Took me less than 10 mins to pop in. The CTS Coupe is the exact same setup as the SRX to change. I'll have to take a couple of pictures this weekend and post them to see what you guys think. Now that I've done these successfully, I want to do the interior:yup:. Captain, now that you've had your interiors installed for awhile. Are there any particular lights I should/shouldnt go with on V-LED's website for the Dome and Visor lights? I think I remember you saying they were also 194s, but not sure of the color and K's. Thanks for all your help guys!
