I purchased a 07 DTS yesterday. Do I need to have the remainder of the factory warranty transfered to my name? If yes can it be done on line or do I have to go to a Caddy dealer?

Thanks

The warranty is on the CAR...it is tied to the VIN.
I could be wrong but I don't think it makes any difference who takes the car in for service.

That is how it used to be, want to make sure it didn't change.

Thanks

Jim is correct. I purchased my 07 used and have taken it in to my local dealer for some minor issues and I had no problem with the dealer honoring the factory warranty.

Make sure you buy extended warranty if you still can. once you go to your dealer he will transfer name on the warranty.

I still have 7 months on the bumper to bumper and the drive train runs out in aug of 2012. Any experience with the after market waranties or staying with the GM factory extended warranty.

In my personal experience you will want to stay with the GMPP warranty. It's a roll of the dice. I have purchased several on past vehicles and have never needed them. You could also set up a reserve fund for repairs and if you need a repair you will have the $$.

Good luck,
