Hey guys,

I was flushing my radiator to give it fresh antifreeze before winter gets cold. And while the system was hooked into my garden hose, I heard this stream of water shooting on the other side of the engine. Sure enough there's a stream of water shooting out of my block - apparently from a pinhole. Yikes! :ill:

As you see in the picture, it's directly to the right of my oil pressure sensor, and just left of the left alternator bracket. I do see a lot of buildup in that area, presumably from the leak over time. But I can't make out what is actually leaking. It did have a burnt smell to it though.

Has anyone had this leak before? Any tips on what needs to be repaired?

Its probably leaking where the intake meets the block. I read that it was a very common problem on 307s from 86 to 90. Mine also leaked from the same place. Its like the corner where the head, intake and block meet up. One of those extendable little mirrors would help a lot.

Did you fix yours?

Or was that the motor that bowed to the 500? :)

Think I may have found my answer: intake manifold gasket leak.

I attempted to fixed mine. When I put it back together, it was leaking in the back of the motor. The 307 has so much crap in the way that it was hard to get the intake on without moving the gasket. Later that year, the car got the Olds 350.

Sounds like an intake manifold issue. Been there.

It easy to do once you take the 307 stuff off. Take alot pics of how the vacuum lines are ran, and how thing are mounted. I give it a 3/5
