: Double-Parked (2 Vs)

I haven't seen many other Vs around Indy, so it was a lot of fun to get to parallel park next to one eariler this week - and another Raven one at that. His is a little newer than mine - but I thought they still looked great together.

I got to meet the owner when I went inside the restaurant - he had seen me park and greeted me at the door. We had a great conversation.

It's kinda funny how excited I was to park next to another black V. In a city of a million people, you'd think I'd see more of them around town, but I really don't. I guess that's one thing I really like about our cars - the low production numbers make them something you don't see every day - unlike its little cousin. Don't get me wrong, I like the Vette, but you don't ever hear anyone say "Hey, wow - there's a Vette!"

Look very nice and great pic.

It is either kids or owners that seem to spot V's.

I know what you mean! V2 drivers are so nice! I was only going to take a picture, but he rolled down the window,
asked the person he had on the phone to hold on a sec to let me look at the dash.

his tread was TORN UP, apparently he gets down with his V. struck me as the early-thirties attorney type.

felt really nice to be accepted in a community like this. I walked away thinking "am I in the CTS-V community now??"

About them being rare... I saw three V1's, all black like mine, on my way back from CA. ...on the 10, they were Westbound.
one looked like it had a red pinstripe down the side.

I could swear we exchanged head "sup"s after seeing each other coming

are there V drivers WITHOUT vanity plates? That's something else I noticed. If V drivers have a profile, does it include vanity plates. lol

Well, yes. I ordered this the same month I bought my V. It should arrive any time - I'm just surprised it was available!!

Thank you, sir! My '04 came out as the 300s, Chargers and Magnums were coming out and the Hemi name was whored to high heaven. So then it was apropos. But for my '09, it's clear the V is in a different league. So I may switch the plates soon...

picking on Hemi's with a '09 does seem kinda mean, or petty. lol

great pics, and jim is still rocking that rear blinder on his car.

crazy how the new v seems to make ours look older then it is.

Great pics!! I'm not sure the V2 actually makes ours look that much older - just a little different. I love them both.

It reminds me of how the BMW M5 went from badge sublety to aggressive styling. The V2... People see it coming. With the V1, ppl are left wondering "why.the.hell did I get smoked by a cts--oh, it's a veeeee."

Even if I don't get my '04 back on the road, I will always have a soft spot for that aggressive, yet understated styling. I've always hated extra wings and hood bulges because I think that profile is just so clean and awesome. I do love my '09, but the V1 is still hawt...

Well let's shoot for April or May when the weather is nicer for an Indy meet. Someone that knows a good spot.

I have an initial thought - Rick's Boat Yard on the West side. It's on the lake (Eagle Creek Reservoir) and they've got a big supplemental parking lot where we could show off the Vs. We could eat/drink outside on the deck too.

I'm going to start a second thread in which I'll propose a meet at Rick's at 2pm on Saturday, April 16. None of those details are set in stone in any way - so if anyone has any alternative suggestions, just let me know!
