Nah, you don't have to do all that. The grille pops out and you can access the four screws from there. Get underneath the sub and disconnect it, then it just pulls right out. I didn't have to remove the trim panel or anything, just the grille.
^You ever get the grille to pop off? I tried in multiple spots around the grille but no luck. I lifted so hard around the grille that the rear shelf itself was raising up an 1".
I had to take all the panels out. Broke one and had to reglue it and epoxy it. it took me about an hour. But now my 10" in the trunk sounds waaaaaaaaaay better now that it has that open hole where the old sub used to be
if you want something a little better than stock. Go with a nice 10". Just make sure you take out the old sub, because that will increase your bass into the cabin
