ok does this sound like the control unit or a vacuum line.

as of today. 1995 fleetwood. i turn the heater on and its blowing out the front vents instead of the bottom or top sides. i personally would rather it come out the front but it doesnt blow hard. so i tried the A/C and it blows out all vents, front, top side, and bottom but it doesnt blow hard either. it gets cold but nothing like before.

what could this be. christmas is tomorrow and hopefully ill get a match and can of gas

Why are you always talking about setting your car on fire?

because its one thing after another. why cant it just run good. i understand that the transmission tore up possibly from sitting so long. it was 15 years old when i got the car and it had 16,495 miles on it. i havent even mentioned to you guys that the rearend has lots of play in it. it bangs when going from park to any gear or shifting.

now this A/C and heat issue. i had to use the defroster this morning and air came out of every damn vent but the center dash vent. if its the control unit its prolly gonna be expensive. hopefully its something simple.

any ideas, and when the air/heat is off i can feel a lil heat seeping through the front vents

could be the vacuum manifold under dash pass side
the controller for dash vents/floor is located just above the trans hump near
the fire wall, you can move it by hand and see if something not right
also remove the vacuum line and see if its working
I have all the parts so if you figure out whats up
I can help you out....Jim

ok, froze my ass off, 46 and windy with high humidity = too cold for me, but i fixed it

dropped both underdash panels, all vacumm lines looked good but no suction to any of them. this is what i suspected from the start but i hear too many stories about the expensive control units. ford also has a problem with that in there 98-00 trucks.

anyway i follow a black hose off the distribution block on the passenger side to the firewall. traced it up to the passenger side manifold right under the big home plate thing on top the motor. theres 2 vacuum plugs. 1 for the HVAC and 1 for the fuel regulator. for reasons beyond me the HVAC one was barely tounching the coupler. pushed it in, its tight and everything is back to normal.

easy fixes like this make me like the car. if i had to spend money i prolly would have burned it to the ground

Glad you got it fixed. I was going to post a pic of that connector for you. I dealt with the same thing after that plastic hose melted on my header.

I'm having blower motor troubles as well, and ran into this post. That "thingamajig" is only on 95 and priors. It's called an (E-valve vacuum emissions harness) and it is discontinued.. so keep it in good shape. Mine dry rotted and I had to rig her up.

Congrats on the do it yourself fix dude! I always feel good when i can fix something myself on my Caddy`s!
I know how it must feel to want to sometimes "burn it to the ground".I eventually "chill out" and either just fix it or find someone who can--if possible.
Have you got any pics of your '95 Fleetwood and '68 Coupe Deville?

Great color on the '95 Fleetwood----and it looks to be in great condition! I certainly would`nt be burning that to the ground anytime soon.Last of the true long/widebodys.
