Does the 'pulling the RTD fuse' trick work when disabling the autoride on an '06 vintage Escalade or is it too new to be fooled that easily?

I am looking to ditch the air system and go to a set of gas Bilsteins....

Thanks!

03-06 is the same. remove negative on battery, wait 5 min, pull fuse, pull wires from front shocks, wait 5 min, put negative back on battery, done.

So to do this properly I need to:

1. Remove air shocks - disconnect wires and air tubes
2. seal up now exposed air tube ends and connectors
3. Install gas bilsteins in all four corners
4. Pull negative cable - wait 5 mins
5. Hook battery back up and drive away

Am I missing any steps? I don't want any lights going off on my wife's rig....

If you're going to replace the air system with the Blistein Shocks, I would consider the addition of the AirLift system http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-escalade-ext-esv-forum-1999/181602-helper-bags-installed.html . It's pretty easy and it still gives you the added support required to haul a heavy load.

Good Luck

I will be replacing all 4 shocks when I do this....may not get done for awhile though.

Kool! No hurry I'm still on oem shocks and all working good. Just wondering for the sake of other users who would like to go that route. Keep us posted!
