Those hubcaps are for a front-wheel drive Cadillac. Your car is rear wheel drive, and is best if left on a 15 inch rim. You can get a nice set of hubcaps that will fit your stock rims size for a lot less.

All of the following will fit the '92 steel wheel (I have had many of them on my '89)

sven,
i appreciate the help. now my next question is, what kind of rim do i need in order to mount some hubcaps to??? i feel sort of stupid for asking but will a normal 15" rim work or do i need an OEM rim, like this:

http://market.autopartsfair.com/cadillac-wheels_rims/item-hgo98897f54.html?campaign=autoelf

and second, do they just mount to the edge of the rim, or do i need some type of special hardware to mount them to?

Just as a side question to cure my curiosity, what makes a hubcap FWD or RWD??

thanks!!!

Damn. I already missed it. Sven wrapped it up VERY nicely though.

All the Hubcaps almost make wish I didn't have wire wheels. Almost.

Yes you do need an OEM rim, if you want hubcaps. If you have access to a junk yard, you can probably find cheap used rims. Rims that will fit your car (and hubcaps) can be found on '70's and '80's full size RWD GM vehicles; Chevy Caprices, Pontiac Bonnevilles, Oldsmobile 88/98, two wheel drive Chevy/GMC Trucks and vans, RWD station wagons, and all rear wheel drive Cadillacs made after 1968.

The hubcaps have clips on the back edge of them, which grip the rim. GM rims have a special lip on them, which the clips can grab onto. So there isn't any special mounting hardware on a normal (flat-type) hubcap (such as in my examples). Wire wheel hub caps usually have locking mechanism on them and require a special lock-nut and key to be mounted to a rim.

As for the difference between FWD and RWD hubcaps; the difference is in the rim. Front wheel drive wheels have a different off-set to make room for the drive and steering hardware. Because the rims are different, the hubcaps are incompatible.
