Good morning Everyone. I recently purchased a 2005 STS with 24K miles and a non-navigation factory stereo. I've found a local GM and ASE Certified mechanic with excellent rates/reputation. So that's covered.
Now, the stereo...
Searching the threads, I've come to believe I'm out of luck getting iPod integration as my stereo doesn't seem to have a satellite radio input. Ideally I'd like to have iPod integration and use of the steering wheel controls while maintaining the functionality of the stock HU. What are my options? Are there any aftermarket HU's that will interface with the driver controls, etc? Although I will settle for a simple aux-in if I have no other options

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

There are plenty of aftermarket stereos with factory integration. Check these out

Thank you for your response, but that's not quite what I'm looking for.

So the uPAC STS isn't just for Nav cars like mine?

Mine does key off the XM interface. Without XM, I don't think my piece would work. (It activates during the first 10 seconds after switching to XM. It worked fine when I hadn't licensed XM and continues to work fine now that I have subscribed.)

Excellent, thank you. I've seen the upac-sts but was under the impression that my non-nav/sat-radio HU was incompatible? Where'd you get it done? I'd absolutely go down to Tucson to get it installed.

Hey, is there anything like upac-sts that will work with an 06 STS? I would love to use my Nav screen to select songs instead of my Ipod.

i have a young guy who just got out of the military who works magic with car electronics. i ask him if this or that will work and he makes it happen some way some how and always keeps my ride looking stock or however i want them...

That's a pretty good deal then. I just ended up having a local shop hard wire an fm modulator. There's a little noise but that's a lot cheaper than the alternative (Clean Sweet by JL Audio). Thanks for the replies.

Anyone else have any further information on connecting an iPod or AUX input interface such as uPAC-STS to a 2005 Non Nav stereo? I just spoke with my local dealer and found out my 2005 is not XM capable. From what I understand the uPAC-STS connects through the XM interface. I'm not sure if "NOT XM capable" means there is no interface, or just no tuner/antenna or what. Any info would be appreciated.

I know it's not what your looking for right now but it's a cheap Alternative (http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/US-EN/Consumer-Product-and-Services/BluetoothHandsFreeProducts/Motorola-Roadster-US-EN) Depending on weather you are using your Cell Phone or iPod touch (has to have bluetooth)...GL
