Since I am putting a.new 350 Oldsmobile motor in I am curious if a set of headers will fit under there while I have the motor out. Has anyone tried it. I found these but I am not sure if they will fit around the motor mounts.

I COULD be wrong on this... but don't G-body headers fit the 307 Broughams?

Looks like you're on uncharted waters with this one man. If you get it to work be sure to take pics and do a write up. :thumbsup: Good luck!

Below is an answer I got when I asked the same question some time back on another site.I am in the process of installing a 425 BB olds into an 86 fleetwood brougham .
Dave ,who supplied the answer is a v. helpful, knowledgable chap.
As it happens I am now going to make my own headers --a tri y system .
Hope this helps , mike.

Mike,

Be careful, the 455 "G body" swap headers have one tube that goes outside frame. I really doubt that they'll fit your chassis.

Hooker's site sucks imo [holley]. Better pics and easier to find at summit;

Beware, most will not fit the exh port very well. If you might choose to tweak and fix, I would raise the exh port 1/8" - 3/16", and machine it back .175" or so, which will allow the center divider to be flush. It'll move the port up, and the header will need tweaked, or the bolt holes will need slotted to move header up.

Fwiw, I would also pour the heat risers full of alum. You can melt old cast pistons in a cast iron skillet. Fixing that, raising the roof and the center divider is probably worth 25-40 horse on a stout olds, depending on the combo. Plus, it stops that oh so shitty [blatty] open header exh note that olds' and older pontiacs have.

Wow he Sounds like quite the knowledgeable person. So he says that headers will not fit in the g body with a 455 without major work to be done. Isn't the 455 a larger block then the 350? Is it possible that with that size difference I could fit them? I think ill give it a shot worse comes to worse I just return them. Thanks guys

here`s what another guru told me

madgecko: Hooker's got what you need--Super Comp "engine swap" headers for 455 into G-body. 455 is same dimensions and everything as 425 so that'll do it, and those are excellent headers.

I think hooker also has super comp engine swap headers for the 350
They aren`t cheap but what is with caddy, olds and combining the two !!
