I want to add a chrome exhaust tip to my Escalade that goes up far enough so you can't see the ugly exhaust pipe that comes with it. I don't want it to be louder or anything, I just want it for the looks and nothing else, can someone post pics of theirs and where you bought it. Also how much did it cost to put it on.
Thanks

I have the angle cut GM one. It looks great and goes up about 8 inches. I can't see the orig pipe unless I really look

thanks alot for the help you guys. Could you please give me the part numbers on the ones that you used on yours and where is the cheapest GM site to get them. Also did you put them on and how hard was it and how long did it take? I have had 3 back surgeries so I don't think I will be able to do the job but if it is really easy who knows.
Sorry 4 all of the questions and thanks 4 all of your help!

Bought mine on ebay then went to a muffler shop and had them weld it on oppose to using screws...no bending, laying flat or lifting...LOL....seriously the E&G looks great and getting it welded makes it look stock and of course sturdy.....I only paid $50 for mine bidding on ebay

The GM website shows that is the part number for 2008-2009 escalade. Different number for 2007, 19156357.

Cardman I ordered that exhaust tip you have. How hard is it to install? Did you do it or take it to a shop and how much will they charge to install?
Send pics of your when you can
Thanks

I cleaned the tailpipe so that the new tip could slip on easy. Then there is one bolt to tighten the clamp. That's basically it.

Same here . . . took 30 seconds. Very easy install.

Thanks for all of your help, I will put it on myself when I get it, do I have to really clean the exhaust?

cadmanchris

Not really, but it makes it a little easier to slide in on. You are just cleaning the dirt off of it.

thanks for all of your help cadman, I have had 3 back surgeries thats why I was asking how hard it was. What is best to clean it with? And all I have to do is use a crewdriver to tighten a screw that will then tighten the clamp on? I bet it looks so much better than the ugly stck tip.
Again thanks for all of your help and answering all my questions

I just used a wirebrush to clean off about the first 4 inches of the tailpipe. You will need a ratchet with either a 13mm or 15mm socket. (I don't remember which size) Slip on the tip and center it and tighten. It's about a 15 minute job. If you were in the NE/NJ area, I would have been more than happy to install it for you.

Aren't our OEM exhausts stainless? I wonder how polishing the tip out might look?

I always polish them on all my cars . . . heavy duty compound and 00 steel wool . . . down to 0000 steel wool. . . . comes out like chrome, no matter how bad it is.

Cadman I just put my tip on Wednesday and it was as easy as you said. Just tighten the 15mm bolt and I was done!! It looks great and I am glad I did it, thanks for all of your help. I noticed that it does not slide all the way up to the muffler, but far enough

I put the volant super tips on my 08 Tahoe LTZ and since you have to cut off the resonator, it made it a lot louder-- actually too loud for my GF :/
The tips look GREAT but the added cabin noise is deterring me from getting it on the escalade especially since the tahoe had a 5.3L and the Escalade's is already louder when stock at 6.2L... anyone know of a good chrome tip to get without having to cut the resonator off?

It never made mine that much louder my cai is louder then the exhaust.
