Last week wife driving home stated engine started shaking violently. Since then the SES light blinks under load, gas milage is very low and I'm suspecting a misfire. Anyone have ideas as my dealer can't get the car in until next week. How hard is it to change the plugs and wires of a 2005 STS V6? I heard 2 of the plugs are below the intake is this true? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Why guess? For the price of the ratchet you'd remove the plugs with, you could own a code reader (EVERYBODY should now own a code reader ;) )

Be sure to get one that is Not OBD-II Only, your car is Can-Bus. There is a stored code in your computer just Trying to tell you what the problem is....

I know nothing about this seller, but this is what I bought at Costco last year for $30. I also have a sophisticated laptop based scanner (AutoEnginuity) but often use this first because it's so quick to grab :)

It's only going to do generic engine codes but, really, that could be 80% of what you'll need anyway....
