christmas is coming and my im thinkin about getting my girlfriend a new camera to replace her 4 year old camera.

id like to find something slim but not necessarily super slim. the most important features would be

-optical zoom
-good picture quality, as in a good sensor, i understand MP numbers mean nothin anymore.
-FAST power up
-FAST transition between takin one pic and being ready to take the next
-FAST shutter meaning id like to click the shutter button and not have to hold still for a sec and a half while the pic snaps
- good battery life, doesnt need to be stellar, but cant die after 20 pictures.
support for SDHC of course
- High Def Video is a plus but not a must

oh price point id like to stay under 3 definitely, maybe at most 250

ill either "inherit" her old pink camera for takin pictures of cars projects etc, or just borrow hers occasionally

Nikon S50c (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000N46VHE/leoville0f-20) or it's brother the S51c (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000VKQT90/leoville0f-20)
cheaper but with 10x zoom is the Cannon SX120IS (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B002LITT3S/leoville0f-20)

going more expensive you've got
Cannon SX210IS (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0035FZJM6/leoville0f-20)
Panasonic DMC-LX3 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001CCLBSA/leoville0f-20)
& Cannon G11 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B002LITT56/leoville0f-20)

check out the reviews and stats for them on amazon

that first cannon (sx120is) looks good for the money
