Whenever I pull away from traffic lights or junctions I get a message
"Traction Control Active" and the car slows right up, no fault indicated when dealer puts diagnostic computer on, no ABS light showing either. Anyone got
any ideas what can be wrong, I am leaning towards replacing front hubs
I had the same problem on my 05 Escalade. The dealer said that it was the traction control sensors which are located in the front hub/wheel bearing assemblies. The sensors could not be replaced so the hub assemblies were replaced. Good thing that I was still under warranty otherwise it would have been costly.
sounds like you are losing traction when accelerating... maybe just a lead foot? it sounds like its doing its job... when the wheels start spinning traction control kicks in and doesnt allow you to go further... if you release for a second it should go back to normal

Thanks for the replies, my dealer ran the computer diagnostic codes, nothing showing, so we tried driving and stopping by the kerb, when starting away light footed on the pedal traction control active came up on the dic, the diagnostic
computer was showing ABS ON this happens most times now when leaving junctions, traffic lights etc, definately not lead footed I'm afraid, pull away gently.
Dealer reckons it is the front hubs that are causing the problem, seems to be a common problem on tahoes, suburbans etc. Just to make certain I contacted Don Massey Cadillac on Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando, they were very helpfull
considering I live in Scotland they seem to think the hubs are the problem.
Many thanks for the replies and helpfull hints

I had the same problem people lift your front truck leave the tire in the air grab the tire by bottom and top check for unusual movement. If have unusual move is the hub and the sensor is inside the hub. problem solve no more active traction messages
i have the same problem on my 05 it was the front hub

Many thanks guys for all your help and advice on my traction control problem. I have ordered two hubs from Car Parts Warehouse and hopefully they will arrive here in scotland sometime next year.
