Took my 04 with 2200 miles in today to let them hear the whine and to ask them to replace rear bezel. Had the Senior cad tech go on a test ride with me, he "couldn't hear the whine.....well did sorta, but did not think it was a problem". He was not aware of any PI Bulletin from Cadillac and said "some guys just look for things wrong in a new car"......said that to me when we were pulling out of the dealership garage......I stopped the car and said, if you think that is where I'm going, get out of the car now......per the senior tech they have had no differential problems and almost no warranty problems with the CTS. Service manager said they could not replace the bezel unless GM classified it as a recall. Second stike. One more and I'm out!
Now, I could kick myself, you know where, because I was dumb enough to buy my second car from this dealership in less than 3 years (last one was an 02 seville that I had nothing but problems with)..traded it with less than 20,000 miles ans swore I'd never own another caddy, but here I am again. The whine is loud enough my wife said to me the last time we were in the car "the rear end is making a whining noise"....but the service tech could not hear it. So I told him I could live with it till it got loud enough so that both of us could hear it then he could fix it.
This is one sharp service tech, when we got out of the car he thought it was a CTS V because it has a V grille......dah, does the V come in an automatic mr service tech? I didn't ask him that question. Love the car, just wish caddy would get some customer friendly service folks. :banghead:

When I first took my wifes CTS into the local Cadillac, Coral Cadillac, we were treated like royalty. I could not believe it could get any better. I even took the time to send multiple emails to each party in the dealership. Since ....
well one part has been on backorder for 4 weeks, and the rear colored bezel took 5 weeks before it came it. Seems like good ole GM has somehow gotten ahold of them also. Darn shame as I really liked them folks.

Looks like we've got a couple things in common beside service departments. I too have a red line CTS and a vette.....my vette is an 04 mag red coupe. Love it......have had zero warranty problems with it. we are lucky to have those two cars in our stable. CTS XTC :coolgleam

My dealer tried that BS with the bezel the first time I inquired about it. So I called Cadillac Customer Care or whatever they call it. Spoke to a rep and made a big stink about it saying things like "If I wanted to have problems ignored I would have stuck with Nissan, I figured Cadillac would be better and was considered higher end vehicle, Guess not blah blah blah" Next thing you know he tells me to please hold on, he is calling my service rep. to inquire about the issue. He gave me some line about why it could not be done. OK, whatever. So I call a few weeks later to sched an oil change and figured while I was there I would press the issue again. When I called to make an appointment the receptionist asked if my rear bezel issue has been taken care of yet? Huh, No so when I brought the car in I mentioned it and without even checking to see if it leaks said they would replace it. Sweet, so like they say "The squeeky wheel gets teh oil, or is it the PITA wheel gets the oil?" Either way it worked. Did take a month to get due to a backorder, but it was well worth the wait. :D
I am treated very well at my service department even though I didn't even purchase the car there. The same rep greets me everytime and he remembers who I am and what my service history is. Everything gets taken care of without question even if it does take a few weeks for back ordered bezels to arrive. Don Massey Cadillac in Plymouth, Michigan.

I've read a number of threads here where folks have had good experience with Massey.....he has had a good reputation for a long time. I lived in Detroit for 15 years and one of my friends worked in the caddy corp office and spoke highly of Massey. Did they give you any flak about the bezel, i.e. "proof" that it leaked, etc? Woudl be interested to know. Thanks. CTS XTC

They didn't give me any flak at all. I showed them the back which always has a little fog/condensation in it and the rep ordered a new bezel without a question. I also had a rear end whine which was taken care of without question (although it took them more than a week to replace it). The latest visit was for a squeaky strut tower. When I brought it in, it wasn't making the sound but he still said he'd take a look at it. The suspension guy took a look at it and found that both sets of control arms were damaged and replaced those. Overall, I'm very pleased with Don Massey.
