: Now this car is shaped the way a Cadillac should be...

It looks very Chrysler 300-esque to me, pug nose and all! I prefer the Fleetwood in the other thread.

Way better than the XTS concept that GM unveilved, but I agree with Orconn, its too tall and not very sleek.

Not bad, but there's something off about it. The windshield/roof contour is very smooth and rounded and then the back window terminates rather abruptly. It needs some tweaking, but it's a nice start.

Yes, the C-pillar and rear window drops off at too sharp an angle. It looks almost like a homage to the 3rd gen Sevilles, but too sharp for my taste...

Maybe someone with good artistic/photoshop skills could turn this into the ultimate Cadillac...

Looks too much like a Merc from the side. Pretty sure they took that rear windshield swoop from a C-Body, which would look nice if the rest of the car went with it.

It's reminiscent of a 1959 Lincoln Continental (with the reverse sloping C-pillar & rear window), an '80 Seville and a squared off mini-me '86 Seville. Not good.

Drop the rear door line and beltline, soften the C pillar with a Florentine curve, and you'd be onto something.

Its a good start, but something is way off about the roof line.

Anyways, I think Cadillac needs to buck the current styling trends and bring back the very formal sedan roofline. I'm talking about paying a little homage to the old boxy days where the windshield and front glass were very upright, the side windows were big, and you had a very thick rear c-pillar to kind of give some privacy to the rear seat passengers. And all of this would work with the current chiseled, straight line arts and science style they got going on right now.

I think that cars like the 300c and Camaro look great from the outside with their "chopped top" look to them, but I hate sitting in them and not seeing out.

Maybe it is the new XTS; remember the concept was just that (for sure we know they were going to stretch the concept's wheelbase) and many changes can happen between concept and new model. Just a thought.

i actually really like this drawing. the hood looks long enough, deck looks short enough i like the rear pillar but it would need to be a bit thicker, and i know its just a drwaing but that back window wouldnt be able to roll all the way down, even with that quarter window there

This needs work, but it's damn near perfect.

We really have no artists here who can work on this a bit?

I don't know where you keep finding these drawings Sal, but the person doing them is far too hung up on outdated styling cues. Little things like the slight "tailfin" shape Cadillac gave the taillights on the SRX are an example of incorporating classic styling cues in an attractive, modern way- slapping the roofline of a mid-90's Mercury Cougar onto the XTS concept is not.

I hesitated to post this because I couldn't produce that drawing, but I've never been shy with an opinion. No offense to whoever the (very talented) artist is, but flights of fancy that imagine outdated styling from the past (especially from the 70s and 80s- Cadillac's darkest hours) making a comeback and being considered fashionable among today's elite seems like a fruitless endeavor.

What -- so it will look like a Hyundai Sonata? I can't wait for the bubble coupe design goes away and we get a proper roofline again for upscale sedans...

I'm with Fleet, style a Cadillac with classic cues, like the sexy Camaro did going back to its explosively hot roots, and Cadillac will have a smash hit. Right now there is no "gotta have" luxury dream car. The time is right. Will Cadillac rise to the occasion? I really, really, really, super really hope so! I hope Kia doesn't do it first... :)

I prefer 65/66 or 69/70 over 67/68. For some reason, the 67/68 cars just don't flow as well to me.

I agree, 1969 was, as Frank Sinatra sang, a very good year. :)

I like all of those years! Even up to and including 1976.

One big advantage of the '68 (and '69-'70) is the great high-compression 472 engine. And the available rosewood paneling in the '68 and '69. But I like all of them... '65/'66, '69/'70, '71-'73, '74-'76, '63/'64, '61/'62, '59/'60, etc.

I guess I'm a little old school. But I have nothing against new designs either...

So I'm not alone. That's good. I admit I'm old school. I still want a retro version of the 1979 Cadillac Eldorado. :o
