I bought a heater coil from part source, 67 vs 168 from the dealer.
Where do I install it (where does it go) and how to install it, any special instructions.
Winter's coming and I need one!

Do you mean the block heater? I believe it goes into a threaded section on the drivers side. The "bolt" that it replaces is a 19mm. You need the cord that has the orange plug in it, or else you are going to throw CEL errors in the winter due to the computer. It only comes on when the plug end detects it is -18C or below outside and then turns it on.
I am looking for other options as my lade came from NJ with no block heater, but need something to warm that engine up when it hits -40C...

GM block heaters usually go in the first freeze plug passenger side in the front of the engine . If you meant heater core and you don't know where it is , you might want a person who knows how to replace it do the job.

The new style of block heaters do not replace freeze plugs anymore. They thread into the block with a dedicated hole. Here is a diagram for my 2009 lade : http://www.gmpartsgiant.com/components/2009-cadillac-escalade-awd-exc-hybrid~engine-block-heater-tc019150501-l9hmyck10706.html

Can someone who has a block heater, take a pic of it in their engine bay? The line drawing isn't the greatest, and I am wondering if it goes into that bolt hole that the power steering pump bolt is in..
