: To keep my '07? Buy a new one? Lease a new one? Ext warranty?

I have a 2007 with a shade over 60,000 miles on it. I got it in July of 2006. I love the Escalade (I had an '03 as well), but I don't like driving a truck with so many miles on it. If I knew a new model was coming out next year I would just hold onto this one and hope nothing happens and buy one in 2011. But as we know a new model won't hit the streets until late 2013. That means I would need to keep this thing running for another 3 years and I will have close to a 100,000 when its time to trade in. I guess I have 3 options (all with the same end result- but a new Escalade when they hit the floor in late 2013):

1) Keep my car for 3 more year at which time it will be 7 years old and likely have 100,000+ miles on it.
2) Buy a new one, keep it for 3 years
3) Lease one and keep it for 3 years
4) Buy an extended warranty

I've never leased a car or bought an extended warranty. My overall goal is to have an Escalade that isn't money pit (thus my fears of keeping my 2007) while also making the decision that makes the most financial sense.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

I'm in the same boat; my '07 has 64k miles on it. The thing runs like an absolute champ. I have kept up on all the maintenance and have changed all the fluids once...soon to be twice. My son is on a travel hockey team, so we are going on 200 - 300 mi road trips once / twice a month. I have total confidence in the vehicle and have no plans to get rid of it. Plus, it saves lots of miles on my M3!

I will say I have been very surprised with the reliability. Other than some fit and finish problems when new and a bad solenoid in the power liftgate (all covered under warranty), the truck has been perfectly reliable. We had an '04 Toyota Sequia before this, and we had more issues with that in only 30k miles.

I say keep it!

I would not worry about the durability of the car, a lot of them are used by limo companies and car services who run them for 2-300,000+ miles before they sell them, and that includes a lot of time spent idling which is really hard on an engine.

I am keeping mine. Mine is a 07 and has about 63k miles. Runs flawless. Will be keeping it until the new style comes out.
