It was an International box truck, 30-footer loaded with about 7000lbs. Got 10mpg. Not bad!

The average gas mileage on my 2000 SLS started from 20mpg mixed, and now it is 15.9mpg. I don't know if HG failure affects gas mileage, but that is the worst I ever got on my Northstar. Even with a lead foot I used to get 18mpg.

The worst was probably my improperly tuned '66 Dodge when I first got it. I never bothered to calculate it though.

The worst out of my Caddies was 10mpg while pulling a 3800lb 18.5' Sea Ray on vacation. That could probably be placed in the "Worst thing you ever did to a car" thread. Smoked the brakes, blew out the air suspension, consequently broke the exhaust. All minor repairs to avoid having to buy a truck :)

Got about six towing a 23' trailer home with a 2003 expedition through the black hills in the wind. Usually the same rig got 8-10, but it was working hard that day. My parents motor home gets between 7-10 MPG so far. Doesn't seem to care if it is towing or not. They got the 10 when the Focus was hooked on the back.

Around 2.8mpg, after spending 12hrs off road crawling around and pulling others.... fuel useage is properly calculated as GPH at that point..

Probably my 93 Blazer. Had a 23 gallon tank and I usually got 240 miles to it, so around 10mpg combined.

1966 Lincoln Continental. 462. Awesome car, but got me 6mpg whether it was full throttle uphill or sitting in the driveway during an oil change.

Around 1.5 mpg in the boat near wot. Roughly figured using mile markers on the lake and refueling after and outing. Much fun but expensive hobby.

About 12-13 mpg in the wagon when my family moved. We did the ENTIRE move with my car, (again, Drew, to save renting a truck. I like the way you think ) $30 in gas is way better than truck rental. I loaded everything we owned either inside that car or on top of it. It was about a 5 mile trek to the new house from the old, and the worst trip was the trip where I had a couch on the roof and a loveseat in the back along with a patio table and other various things that fit in the other seating areas with the tailgate and rear hatch window open. I got some of the strangest looks from others.

Here's a pic of some of the shenanigans, after the patio table was removed and some of the straps were pulled off of the couch:

I got around 10-12 mpg in my old Blazer, but that was for offroading so it wasnt a big money pit gas wise.

So THAT'S the story behind that photo, eh Sting?

Not once in my life have I calculated my fuel usage, why would I want to upset myself? Actually, I don't care how poor it is, it's worth it. Extra batteries, assorted electronics, coffin, rollcage, 20 feet of car and a 307. Actually, the most weight my car has had in it as of recently, was probably on the WPB meet, where in Hobe Sound it had myself and two passengers (Roo and Matt...and Matt's a big guy) so as of the last twelve months, that's probably the worst it ever got. Realistically speaking, that's not all that much more weight than the car alone.

Not the MOST weight my engine ever had to move, but the most recently. As for different vehicles, I have driven everything from a '56 Impala to a '99 Escort and without a doubt, car, truck, rat rod, hearse, whatever else...they all got better mileage than my car.

My car is a Hybrid though. She burns gas AND ozone.

I think I got like 9 MPG one week with my '92 deVille. It was in the dead of winter, and I wasn't doing anything abnormal and the car wasn't acting odd, but it only got like 9-10 whereas it would usually pull 14-15 in the same sort of driving. I filled it up the next week at a different station and I was getting normal mileage. Who knows.

With the Astro, if I'm pulling my little 5x8 enclosed trailer, I'll get between 11.5 and 12.3 MPG, and boy let me tell you, that really sucks! I don't have to pay for the gas, but it sucks having to stop every 260-280 miles instead of the usual 375-400 when it hits E. It's got a 26 gallon tank, but the most I've ever put into it is like 24.5 gallons.

I think riding around in my friend's suburban back in high school was the worst mpg rig I've ever seen. It was such a beast, it was his mom's old car that they bought to tow a boat with. I can't remeber the year, it was the boxy late 90's body, maybe a 97 or so, dark green on tan leather.

So anyways, I think my friend(with the help of GM) built it to be the most gas guzzling rig ever made. From the factory:

4wd
3/4 ton chassis with 8 lug wheels
454 Big Block Chevy v8, it was a "vortec" model with multiport fuel injection
4l80e automatic trans

He then built it up with these parts and it got like 4-5mpg:

6" of lift
35" tires
gears
huge black steel bumper on the front with a winch
headers, no cats, custom true dual exhaust, LOUD LOUD LOUD!!!

Anyways, his truck was the most obnoixous and badass thing in the parking lot. I helped him wrench on that thing A LOT, good times.

A friend of mine has a bone stock '00 K3500 Silverado (old style) crew cab with the 454 Vortec, 4L80-E and about 104k miles. He says no matter what he does or where he drives, it's 11 MPG.

Ugh. Loud or not, 11mpg can't be any fun.

LIES. My car is always fun. Not loud though, except for that time the exhaust completely cracked off right before the muffler. That was some scary business.
