: Differential gear oil is easy to change!

Anyone thinking about changing differential oil should know that it's not a difficult job. There is a drain plug at the bottom and on the left (driver's side) there is the fill plug about half way up. You will need a hex socket to remove the plugs. Also, you will have to pump the oil in since there is not enough room to pour from a bottle. I used this pump (http://www.amazon.com/each-Custom-Accessories-Multi--Purpose/dp/B002YLFPWQ/ref=sr_1_26?s=miscellaneous&ie=UTF8&qid=1286684192&sr=1-26). But there are also manual pumps made to screw onto the gear oil bottles. I filled the differential case until the oil was slightly spilling out from the fill plug.

Remember to use a jack stand to support the car on the side you jack it up! Absolutely do not risk getting underneath without at least one jack stand supporting the car. I purchased two 3-ton stands at Walmart for $25.00 (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Torin-Jacks-3-Ton-Jack-Stand-Pair/14560047) and used one. It is a nice stand.
