: Okay - one more stupid question: Hazard switch

You'll all be happy to know I ordered up an owner's manual and FSM from Helm yesterday so the barrage of questions will stop soon :-)

My most recent is with regard to the hazards. I realized yesterday that they don't work. The fuse is good and I replaced the flasher. No dice. Every once in a while when I hit the switch, the right arrow will flash for a split second on the dash, but that's it.

Do the hazard switches have a history of going bad? I don't want to have to disassemble the steering column for nothing (to replace it), but I don't know what else it could be.

Thanks,
Jim

there are two flashers, you did replace the one for hazzards and not turn signals correct?

Yes, the hazard flasher is the small round one. I also found a purple wire up there that doesn't seem to go anywhere. Makes me suspicious. I'll have to wait for the wiring diagram in the manual.
