Hi, noob here :)
One of my friend just got his CTS-V (auto) and he wants to know how he could raise the top speed. I know, its kinda pointless to raise the top speed but that's just his thing I guess.

So, what are some possible solutions to this? Different differential? ECU upgrade?

Thanks in adv :)

i believe it is governed to 174ish... ecu mod should remove it.

Auto top speed is 179 mph, electronically governed. This is done by not letting the car shift into 6th. You can tune that out of it.:yup:

I read somewhere that rpm limiter is the main reason restricting the top speed. So it just doesn't shift to 6th and stops at 5? I guess we didn't test the car throughly.. :)

Please recommend me some good ecu tune companies!
thanks in Adv..

The trans output shaft speed is limited so one of the clutch baskets doesn't frag.

Nope, I know that isn't true.

Yeah that.

Also, the top speed of the auto is 175, but any tuner can raise it. It's a must if competing in any standing mile event.
