e6t,
Who knew you would have an "economy" car as well as a kick a** GT.

I am averaging 16.5 on daily commute (freeway plus stop light infested urban streets). Best so far on freeway only 20.2 mpg. Of course when I go driving on the weekend it is more like 13- 14 mpg, with an occasional drop to 10 :)

This car is one E ticket ride and it dances pretty good for a fat girl.

This is one fat ass I don't mind slapping around a bit. :)

I am also pleased with the gas mileage I get with ECU upgrade. (2010 auto, "Max Performance" flash)

21 mpg at a steady 80mph. 23 mpg at a steady 60 mph. 5 mpg at 140 mph.

One annoying rattle has developed in the lock on the glove box... cured it with a small dab of lok-tite.

Wheels click like mad. I don't really notice it all that much.

Escort has saved my butt at least 10 times now.

I'd like to hear from more manual, totally stock owners regarding mpg @ 70-75 mph. Mods distort meaningful data.

Filled gas tank at Highway On-ramp. Ran 130 miles at 75+ (some spurts higher to avoid heavy traffic). Refilled at immediate exit from High-Way.
Mileage = 20.5 mpg measured. MANUAL TRANSMISSION.
In town average 12-15mpg.

Manual Transmission and totally stock (for now). Following all of the Mod Threads carefully to guide my decisions for modifications.
Just have to convice my wife that it "improves mileage.":cool2:

Interesting...Drove from Dallas to Longview over the weekend and averaged both ways 19.7 mpg. Daily commute averages 15.1 mpg. Auto Transmission.

My wife complains that the car gets all the looks from other drivers and not her. She said the sexy one was her and not the car....I didn't disagree (over the years you learn when to take the bait and when not to)

In town average 12-15mpg.I'm getting the same highway mileage although in Florida you're rolling the dice, even with a good radar detector, if you cruise above 75 mph on freeways. The state is focused on "revenue enhancement" measures to offset some of the drop in sales tax receipts.

Local Law Enforcement operates like any Enterprise. Rut-Row. They are not a private enterprise. They are here to "Protect and Serve."
Cedar Rapids, Iowa has been aggressive in implementation of Traffic Cameras all over the City. They brag about their increasing revenue approaching $100,000 a month.
I must appreciate that traffic accidents are significantly curtailed. However, this vindictive abuse of public trust is quite trying. We really need enforcement of actual traffic laws: signal before turning or changing lanes, yield to moving traffic lane, turn into same lane you have turned from (right lane to right lane), keep right and maintain speed consistent with traffic conditions (no highway vigilante :dammit: driving in the left lane to enforce their [I]interpretation of the speed limit!).

Escort has saved my butt at least 10 times now.

If you like the Escort, you'll love the Valentine. It's a multi-directional unit, reads north, south, east, and west. It's a little pricey but there are upgrades from the manufacturer available. We have it on our 300hp HHR SS and it's a gem.
