I didnt' want to, but it was so damn cool I had to drive away with it. It has a fairly long list of minor issues, both mechanical and body, but nothing I can't fix over time.

It needs new brakes immediately. It had the SES light on when I bought it, but I hoped it was something minor. It is, a 0410 and 1441 (which are related, I assume). The 98k mile LT1 runs awesome. I drove 200 miles round-trip to get it. It was not in as good as shape as the owner described, but she came way down on the price so I snagged it.

Needs some TLC but I'm lovin' it so far. It's filthy from the 100 mile drive in the rain.

Yeah, it should. The previous owner took great care of the body and interior, but let all of the mechanical stuff go. Which is good, because that's what I do.

The low coolant light was on this morning. I noticed they kept a jug of coolant in the trunk and that it was wet around the thermostat housing. Could/should be an easy fix.

The A/C doesn't work, but the compressor is cycling so it's low on refrigerant.

One of the rear windows is off the track.

The SES light cleared itself up. The car had been sitting for a long time. The previous owner put 2,000 miles on it since 2007.

It's already proven to be a fun toy. My GF's 12-year-old son had 25 kids in it at a high school football game last night. It was like the old how-many-college-students-can-you-fit-in-a-phone-booth thing, I guess.

Anyway, I have a LOT of research to do here. The car didn't come with a key fob. I'm assuming a '96 would have had keyless entry, even a V4U car. Am I right?

Looks like one cool car!!! I have noticed one in my area the past couple weeks. Certainly looks like that car will offer loads of fun.

I dunno. My brother has an '02 Grand Am without keyless entry. I didn't think there was such a thing after the mid-90s.

So far I've:
- Gotten the rear HVAC working (was a blown fuse)
- Fixed the trunk pulldown (it was unplugged)

I've been camping with the Boy Scouts all weekend so I haven't done much. It turns A LOT of heads, particularly when you take it off-roading at the Boy Scout camp. I put all of our gear in it, and a huge wheelbarrow in the center row of seats (after properly protecting the seats).

I'll be doing brakes today, plus whatever is easy to knock down. I have to get the rear window fixed. I've seen lots of posts on it so I'll start there for help.
