One of the lines has come loose from the coolant reservoir on my 88. The line that connects to the top of the radiator (overflow line i think) is still connected but the other line (purge) is hanging loose and i cant find where it is supposed to be connected so that i can fix this. If anyone knows where the purge line is connected i'd really appreciate a hint. Thanks

It's suppose to hang loose, its an overflow line.

yeah, the purpose of this line is to spew out any excess coolant

hey, no worries. I had the same thought when I first got my '87 caddy. I was like "hmmm...this line isn't hooked up to anything. It probably should be hooked up to something" and searched all over for the answer...couldn't find it...then I asked my mechanic about it while getting inspected and he told me.

So now you know :)

How much coolant should come from this line? There seems to be more than normal which is what initially led me to investigate the overflow.

shouldn't have any coming from it unless you overfill your coolant or have some kind of pressure built up or something...I think?

Does the car run decent

The car runs fine right now. I found out that there was a leak where the hose from the engine connects to the radiator at the bottom. It drips in the same place that the overflow would.
