Title says it all. Dealership wasn't aware of one...

I thought that they sold a newer version on DVD, for updates. It costs a few hundred though.

I think he may be referring to a TSB

There is a TSB on the early 09s. It referred to behavior in which the radio would not shut off or something similar.

The Nav DVD is updated every year with new maps. It is typically released in the fall, though the update for 2010 was not fully in stock until February-March 2010. Gracenotes is also typically updated every year.

Is Gracenotes updated from the dealership only? I need to update mine.

No. You can buy the disc at gmnavdisc.com . It's $20 IIRC.

Anyone know what the difference between these 2 items is for our cars(first one is currently out of stock):

2010 Gracenotes Media Database Update Nav Radio Part# 25962367 $19.99

2010 Gracenotes Media Database Update HDD Radio Part# 25962369 $19.99

Luna,
The Nav update disc is:

2010 Cadillac CTS/CTS-V Navigation Disc Part# 20904449 $199.99

I assume the first one is for nav models and the second one for non-nav models, which still include the HDD.

Luna, is there a particular problem you are having?

X's 2

I can look to see if there is something that would apply to your concern...

If you go here, http://tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web and type in your vin number, you can see everything on your car. Just select that module, and you will see if something new was released. It will be a second number in that group.

The only free update is the one that fixes the "radio turns on even if turned off before the car is shut down" problem.

Apologies for not being clear with my initial post fellas, for I posted it from my Droid phone, which isn't the easiest to work with.

I'm not having an issue with my nav system, I simply want an updated NAV system, with current streets and such. For instance, I did a mapquest search and it led me on a few streets that the nav system didn't recognize.

I'm still not sure, however, what the $20 update relates to though. If I already have the nav system, do I need to get the $20 update or the $200 disc?

I paid the $200.00 for the 2010 NAV update and installed it. It did update quite a few local area discrepancies that I had previously noted, so that was good. I didn't go for any of the, "Gracenotes", updates though as I'm still not sure exactly what they are for, or do .. which means I probably don't use/need the, "feature(s)".

Gracenotes organizes the music stored on the hardfile and has nothing to do with Navigation. Updating maps usually costs quite a bit ($200 from GM) and probably won't have the latest changes or additions to streets. Most map updates from Navteq are at least two years behind because the process is long (finding changes, putting the changes into the map system, distributing the updates to everyone who uses Navteq, etc.).
