"Perfect" frame???

It's all in the owner. And what taste you want. For me, I want classy on my V2, and the "overpowered, yet understated". (not my words, read in a magazine somewhere.)

I am using the plastic chrome dealership frame, that says their name and town. I want that for when I go there for service (dealership wars...) and I'm trying to keep the "regular" car scheme.

My car is white. If I had a black V2, with black wheels and headers with Corsa Sports mufflers, I wouldn't even have a frame.

trying to find the "perfect" frame... help is appreciated!

Just keep it simple. My car is black and I purchased on ebay 2 black plain metal frames. I never want anything written on my license plate frames...

I've got the $45 dollar black frame off e-bay. Very nice piece. Has the "V" logo.

I have had the following frames on in order.

1.) Dealership w their logo (black)
2.) No logo (black)
3.) Lingenfelter (chrome)
4.) Current: No logo (Chrome)

I have a V badge on the rear and now a lingenfelter badge. So, I did not want something too busy or redundant.
I have the oem trim.

do you use the frames that only have holes at the top, like this:

I like the one shown in the link behind the ford and mustang frames better than the one in the picture
not sure which one you'll get if you buy from there (probably the one in the picture)

None, thanks. I'd love to have a "my other car is a CTS-V" frame for my other cars, though. :)

north carolina just passed a law banning license plate frames that partially cover the state name and/or registration stickers. not sure if other states are following suit. the purpose is that a lot of law enforcement units use a new camera system on their vehicles that can quickly scan multiple plates and automatically check DMV databases. http://www.elsag.com/index.asp

newer plate frames will be thinner to accommodate these new laws. might be something to look into for your state. i currently have an nc state alumni frame on both of my cars but i'll be taking them off soon. $100 fine and it's up to the officer to determine if your frame is no good. not worth the chance of getting pulled over by a cop having a bad day...or a carolina or duke fan.

My car is white. I have a chrome frame with the "V" logo and run without the required front plate in Illinois.

we had to throw out all our plastic dealer branded license plate frames and get new ones because of that law ecorpuz12

+1 - It's a beautiful car, so why detract from that with any frame at all. I do have a plastic cover over the plate however.

I took the frame off and only have the plate. The hole in the plate exactly matched the holes in the car. Nothing simpler than that.

One thing i noticed in messing with diffrent plates is to use one of those universal plate backing. It has rubber contact points so you will not damage the car from repated closures of the the trunk.

Mine is chrome with black letters that read (on top) "556 Hp Hybrid" (on bottom) "Burns Gas and Tires". I get the feeling that occasionally, when people feel a little jealous about the car, they like to say something derogatory like "I bet it gets terrible gas mileage". I just tell them that it is a Hybrid and smile and walk away....
