I just purchased my 2007 2 Months ago and it is running like a top :yup:

I made my first service appointment for my DTS tomorrow. They are going to perform the Recall service and I need them to look at the Brakes due to some shimmy when braking from above 50MPH.

While they have my car, do you think I can ask for a Full Inspection of the car? I want them to double check some of common problems with the car? i.e. Oil Pan Gasket. Will they do like a 27 point inspection upon request?

Also, How easy would it be for them to give me a print out of all service performed on my car before I owned it?

Anything else that I should check while there?

Also, I am taking it to a Cadillac dealer from which I DID NOT buy my DTS, am I still going to be offered a Loaner Vehicle?

P.S. I have 41,000 miles on my 2007 DTS

nice ride!

ask them to make sure they check the vehicle over carefully since you're coming close to the end of your warranty and you don't want to be rushing to get stuff done right before your warranty runs out

if they don't really want to do that ask how much an 'owner check and test' will cost and then decide if you're willing to pay that to have them look it over

At this time I would also get GMPP extended warranty before it's to late. I got 15000 miles on my 2007 DTS Performance and did buy 5 yr 60000 mile additional warranty.

I 2nd that opinion about the extended warranty. I bought one in 07 for my 03 Deville. As it turned out, I lost out on the deal; I had 2 warranty repairs; a window regulator and a motor mount. Since I paid $1,200 for the warranty, I lost out on it but it bought me 3 years of peace of mind and that was worth it. I have to go without a warranty until April when I replace the current one with an 07 or 08 but will definitely get another extended warranty.

I have the GMPP extended warranty on my 2006.
It has already paid for itself and then some.

Say you have an 08 DTS with 40,000mi on it. How much would the extended warranty cost? I'm planning on purchasing a DTS & I'd like to purchase the extended warranty just in case!

There are plenty of online GM sources that will provide you with a quote. It has been my experience that the online quotes are less $$ than what a dealer will quote you for the same GMPP warranty. Armed with the quote you may be able to go to your favorite dealer and see if they may beat that price.

I paid too much $3000.00 for additional 5 yr 60000 mile zero dedictable, bumper to bumper from a dealer on my 2007 DTS. With all the problems I had with 2001 DHS I think it's still worth the price.
Just my 2 cents.

I just received a solicitation from GMPP for my '08 which is good for a vehicle with less than 36,000 miles: 4 years/60,000 miles: $3,055.00. In brief, was told it's the same coverage as the bumper to bumper new car warranty, plus it includes wear and tear. WarrantyDirect offered a 5 year / 100,000 mile, which looked similar to the GMPP but did not include wear and tear, at $4,703.00. And DirectBuy's 5 year / 100,000 mile was $2694.00. Haven't spoken with the dealer yet to see what he would/could do for me, but should be doing that in the next week or so since the GMPP offer expires 10/2/2010
