05 STS V8 starts hard cold about 5 sec to fire, hot about 2 sec. Have one DTC p0300 i have 45psi of fuel at cranking and no bleed off after 10min key off. The cam and crank are in sink. and has no other driveabilty problems. I am a ford master diesel tech this thing has kicked my butt.

P.S. This car has a rap sheet 2 pages long on GM dealer world lemon i think or just a GM (joke)

Thanks
Steve

Plugs and wires were done 20k ago along with the top end of the motor ie valve springs, cam, followers, intake gaskets ect..... i will check the intake bolts good thinking. I think if the intake was loose i would have a lean DTC? I have not touched gas in over 7 years first car i have had with a gas motor.

Are the plugs & wires OEM? There are many reports of issues with 'better than OEM' replacements.

Fundementals still apply; fuel or fire. I'd expect a fuel mixture issue to throw diagnostic codes.

Maybe a leaky injector? Does it exhibit the issue after a short stop like refueling? If no, that supports this theory. Same deal if it's worse after longer stops.

When it does start, is there black smoke? That's unburned gas.

I am pretty handy and have a full toolbox from the body shop I used to work at. Is this something I can change myself? I haven't looked but where is the battery located? I read here and there that it may be under the back seat!

At least the car did its job by protecting you. Sorry for your loss but cars can be replaced.
