I realize it might be too early, but has anybody hardwired a V1 into their new V Coupe? Or is the V Sedan the same at the Rearview mirror? My last couple of GM cars (Corvettes) have had a wire plug into the back of the mirror but no so on the Coupe. So looking for a good place to wire it in. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Tom

I did mine last week. Used a blendmoount and invicord. There is no more exposed connector on the rear of the mirror. But there is a wire connector between the mirror and the headliner that you can tap into. It is located behind the small plastic trim piece just above the mirror mount. I removed the trim piece, then the mirror, seperated the plug, then wired the V1 into the mirror side of the plug.

The plug has two rows of pins, five pins per row. The +12V is on the winshield side row, second pin from the drivers side. It is colored pink on the headlinder side of the connector. The gound connection is on the windshield side row, all the way on the passenger side. It is colored black with a white stripe on the headliner side of the plug.

Hope this helps.

THANKS!

I'm not usually adventurous tearing in to a new car, so this is exactly what I need to know.

I am using a Blendmount along with Invisicord. The install is different that it was in the sedan as has been previously noted, but right now I have a V1 running just fine. I also have the mounts for Beltronics and Escort and occasionally change them out. Once you get power thru Invisicord you can adapt the Blendmount to all of the top detectors.. er.. I mean safety devices.
