Hi guys. I just recently purchased a 2006 Cadillac STS. I want to paint the tail lights black but i cant figure out how to remove the covers. I looked through the owners manual and looked online but cant find anything. If anyone knows how to remove them, your help would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

Why remove them? Just paint them on the outside. Probably look as good.:histeric:

i would paint them with the covers still on but its harder to get the corners. i also dont wanna get any paint on the car lol. i ordered a can of vht nite shades to paint the tail lights and it says to remove the tail lights before spraying them.

Just remove the whole light, that way you won't paint the car. Just go in the trunk, remove the liner behind the light and you have 3 nuts to remove there, simple!

Yea, you dont want to separate the lense cover from the taillight housing... just take the taillights out of the car, tape off any plastic, wet sant and spray, should be simple... are you going to do the third brake light too?

yea i wanna do the third brake light also. if it means removing the liner on the trunk then i should be able to paint the lights pretty easily. thanks again for the help

There are no covers. The whole light is one piece all fused together. The lighting is LED so there are no bulbs or anything else that removes.
