: So I've searched and read all the opera lamp posts; but, one question remains,

Why does my 88 Brougham owners manual page 114 list an opera lamp bulb #756? :yup:

These are the replacement bulbs for the rear interior lights, mounted to the c-pillar, which are also called opera lamps because of their close proximity to the opera window.

Those bulbs are identical to the 81 SDV Opera lamp bulbs. They are found in the Opera Lamps on the sail panel above the SDV script.

GM was probably slow on updating the manual.

^Probably. When I looked at the book again, there was a number for sail-panel reading lamps, which are the lights I was thinking of. The bulb numbers had to have been updated for '81 because there is no listing for the fuel economy indicator lamps, even though every other tell-tale bulb is there.

On a side note, what is the bulb number for the fuel economy indicators?

Thanks for replies, I noticed the sail panel reading lamp #912, which is why I asked the question. Wishful thinking on my part! :)

Based upon the bulbs listed, I betcha a nickel the fuel economy indicator lamp is a #161 or a #194!
