New poster here! Anyone found a good match for the 472 blue or the gold on the air cleaner?

Thanks in advance.

You can spend a lot of money on the correct color, but some of us just use the cheap & much more available Fo*d blue. Bruce Roe

I am thinking there is a GM blue available in spray cans that is not too far off. That is what I used on my 77, 425 anyway. You will need to paint the entire eng as nothing will match aged paint on an engine.

I actually found 2 GM blue bombs at O'Riley Auto Parts for around $5.99

F*rd blue??!! :bonkers: Maybe in a pinch :)

I think the ford blue is about the closest but I'm pretty sure eastwood sells the correct color if you can wait a couple days.

The GM blue is much lighter than the old Cadillac blue. Go with F*rd blue. I won't tell anyone. :)

Here is GM blue:

They had 2 GM blues at O'Riley Auto. The one I got was much darker. Closer to light navy than blue. Will post pics later.

Didn't the 472's & 500's use the darker Cadillac Blue which was almost a purple? I don't think the corporate blue started until 1977.
