: Got rear-ended. Didn't get pooped on this time, at least.

I was pulling out of the parking lot at school on to the main road when I got a really hard thump from a blue Cavalier. It was enough for my seat belt to catch me and keep my head from hitting the wheel. I shook my head, threw my arms up, and got out.

Amusingly, she asked me "Whats a Saab?" She pronounced Saab in a way that rhymed with "cab". Apparently the company has done a poor job of marketing to youth.

Bumper got pushed in. Its hard to see from this angle but its quite uneven now.

Her bumper was shoved back a couple inches, hard to tell from this photo.

Got her picture... I dunno... in case she was a gypsy? She's a 20 year old junior. Very nice person, apologetic, easy to deal with.

We stood around waiting for the police while talking about country music (she's a Brad Paisley fan, I mentioned that I was planning on seeing George Strait in Nashville), past accidents I've been in, long commutes, and undergrad life. Had a very pleasant chat, actually. [She's engaged.]

Took a report, filed a claim, and went home.

I'm dropping my car off at the body shop and getting my rental car on the 31st. I have a feeling I'll be stuck in a Dodge Caliber. Hopefully nothing underneath the plastic or foam is damaged.

I bet she knows how to pronounce Saab when her insurance goes up. Also, I know how much you like Ducky and how much you have spend in repairs since purchase, but you might want to consider a replacement. I think there's an invisible target on that bumper...

Glad no one was injured, and there's wasn't any poop this time. At least not from the sky anyway.

Can you own a car without it being in an accident?? I'm kinda glad you didn't buy my '92 deVille, I hate to think of what would have happened to it if you got it, lol.

Glad to hear you're OK though, physically.

OMG...I can't believe you got hit twice in that Saab.... You seriously need to invest in a Bi-State map.....

Glad you're OK :-)

I'd hit her.

08-23-10, 11:26 PM
Glad to hear you were undamaged, but I'd definitely have a word with your Kharma! I've been driving since 1960 and in all those years haven't as many, even minor, accidents as you have had just since I've been coming to the Forums.

^ Agreed, Jesda you need to go make a sacrifice to the collision gods or something.

08-23-10, 11:30 PM
Have you found any more damage?

08-23-10, 11:32 PM
lol, she called it a SAB?

Jesda, do you still have your STS?

08-23-10, 11:34 PM
Engaged? Damn! I was hoping for a "When Harry Met Sally" moment.

08-23-10, 11:35 PM
Think the STS got sold to Ian's brother if I remember correctly.

Engaged? Damn! I was hoping for a "When Harry Met Sally" moment.

It would have worked if he had some Peter Cetera on hand.

Jesda was moaning just like Meg Ryan when he thought of the insurance settlement he might be getting.

08-24-10, 12:05 AM
I'd hit her.

08-24-10, 12:07 AM

Don't be Saabing all the way home now. :rimshot:

This is a Saab story if there ever was one. Rear ended, no phone number, no nothing. :crybaby:

Also, thank you Ian.

Engaged? Damn! I was hoping for a "When Harry Met Sally" moment.Well, more like a "you banged me, now it's my turn" moment. :lildevil:

Jesda gets all the luck. When I rear ended somebody, it was an extremely bitchy old lady and her entirely browbeaten husband.
