I LOVE the 1973-87 GMC/Chevrolet full size trucks. Nothing typifies classic blue collared west coast Americana better than those. Seeing as how it's got that rare optional BoNaNzA package on it, that makes it even better!

If I ever need a spare utility vehicle for occasional hauling and work, the first one I'm going to look at is a solid, dependable late `70s to early `80s Chevy or GMC pickup.

All I know about the Bonanza is that I thought I heard it was a Western Canadian only package or something. If it was an option I have no idea. I never bothered to research it. People sure ask him about this truck whenever he parks at a store or at red lights :P

I can't find a whole lot of solid information on the Bonanzas, but it appears they were introduced in '76, and ran through the '80s, and they were available on the 2nd lowest trim level (Custom Deluxe, Scottsdale) as a spruce-up package for year end promotional packages. They were sold on the C/K trucks and full sized vans. After '80, the Bonanza package was available on the middle and high end trucks (Cheyenne/Silverado)

I've never heard the desire to live somewhere the taxation is more favorable, and the weather less obnoxious called traitorous. I have spent a few Winters in the upper Mid-West (Wisconsin) and I can understand anyone with the money to do it finding somewhere else to spend my Winters. My Dad had cool cars back in the day but the pictures of them are pre-digital - he drives a leased every three year Lexus now, what is the world coming to?! :) The 79 Nova is particularly cool, love the square headlights on the 79. :) Chad, I love blue collar stuff as much as I love fancy and fine. So thankful to be an American where we can do it all: blue jeans to tuxedo, Copenhagen Snuff to fine cigars, Pebble beach to monster trucks. :)

I had some real Molson a year ago or so, smuggled over the border by Canadian friends who winter in FL, and it was deeeeevine! Totally different from the Molson we have in the U.S. - why is that? I don't care what the value is, a 4-door 79 Nova is incredible! I like 73-74 Nova 4-doors too. :)

hmm actually I think Coors bought out Molson, so it's not really Canadian anymore, but I heard the brewing process is different here. It's like Bud light, some people love it and some people find it too bitter, I think it tastes the same as Molson or Moosehead, or Sleemans
