: New or rebuilt 472 parts

I'm about to get my 472 in couple of days to start tearing down to get hot tanked. The motor has been setting outside for quite some time and is pretty rusty, so I have no clue if I can reuse some of the internals. I'm wondering who would have parts to rebuild the whole valvetrain. I will also need a starter and an oil pickup, I'm not sure if this is something that I can find down at NAPA or if it's going to be a pain to find these parts. I don't know if my old water pump can be rebuilt because I can't find a new one. The only damn part that I can find is an intake out of my Summit catalog. Many thanks to anyone who knows where I can find parts.

Cad Company or Maximum Torque Specialties sell lots of Cadillac parts! They will have everything you need! As for water pumps, any auto parts store should have those, for under $30.
An oil pickup tube would be from a junkyard, or MTS or Cad Co sells used and new ones. I have some spare pickups from front sump 500's that would work if that's what your oil pan is.
I have a rebuilt 472 starter that I used for 6 months that I have no use for now. If you are interested, let me know.
The internal parts of the engine should be fine for re-use as long as they aren't damaged. I would have them magnafluxed to check for any cracks.

How much you want for the starter Caddy Daddy? I'm down in Willimantic quite a bit, also Lebanon, if your price is reasonable maybe we can get together.

How does $30 sound? It has been painted a light blue, and has a reflective heat shield wrap around it. The heat shield wrap alone was almost that much!

Let me know if you are still interested.
