: Noise from front right side of vehicle/chrome trim pieces coming off???

We purchased my SRX about a month ago. I was ecstatic with my new car, a reputable Cadillac. Until a couple of days after I drove it out of the dealer.

It started with a loud noise as I drove over small bumps or made right turns. I could tell it was coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle. We took it to service and they told me they didn't hear anything. The noise continued getting progressively worse.

We took it back to the dealer and after my husband insisted a diagnostic test drive with him in the car, they heard the noise. Turns out Cadillac issued a bulletin (#PIT4891) back in July 24, 2009 stating "rattle or loose lumber noise from front of the vehicle over bumps". We now come to find out there currently is no 'repair' for this problem. What irritates me the most is that no one bothered to inform us of this known problem before we purchased a $40K vehicle. Had I known this we would not have purchased the SRX.

Now I am also missing the chrome trim piece under the driver side mirror. When we took it in for that we were told "oh yeah, we are getting these cars in for this all the time".

Is this happening to anyone else with a 2010 SRX??? Have you been able to solve these issues?

Check out this thread: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-srx-second-generation-forum-2010/197966-chrome-trim-under-side-mirrors-fell.html

It is located here on the first page of this forum. Search this forum for the noise issue. There are many posts regarding it. Fortunately, I have not had that problem, but did have to have the chrome pieces replaced on both sides. Good luck.
