: Got my exhaust done today!!
I finally got around to putting on my Magnaflow 10791 X-pipe, Vibrant 60* Bends, Magnaflow 14326 Mufflers, and 4" Pro Tips. I like the way it sounds but I caution anyone who is thinking about doing this to really think about the X-Pipe as it adds quite a bit of interior drone. I am not sure if I like it or not. I am going to drive it for a month or so to let the mufflers break in and see how it sounds then. At that point I will either add two round Magnaflow 10426 mufflers as resonators or replace the X-pipe with a 12468 Magnaflow Tru-X muffler. I can say that I lost quite a bit of weight because the factory equipment is very heavy! Ok on to the pics. Sound clips when I get a chance. I haven't worked with my new camera on those yet......
Here is the driver side with the stock removed (Note the Energy Suspension Bushings)

I thought the X-pipe was supposed to prevent drone, no?
Edited: I was mistaken. From driving in today I have figured out that it is not drone as all the sound is comming from the rear of the car. Just the exhaust is louder than I expected. I will talk to my Magnaflow Rep.
As I said I will give it time to break in but man it's loud! My Magnaflow rep and a factory guy are coming this Friday to do sales training and I am gonna take them for a drive to get their opinions. I will be updating this thread as time goes on with results and what they say. I am leaning toward the Tru-X muffler but we'll see what they say.

They look good, I am back and forth on adding exhuast myself. I like the louder sound but I like the sleeper effect that stock the exhaust offers. thanks for posting the info Im looking forward to the sound clips and the word you get back from the magnaflow guys.
Please check my edited post. I was mistaken in thinking what I was hearing was drone. It is just the increased exhaust sound that I was hearing as it is all comming from the rear of the car and leaking into the cabin.

I have 2x magnaflow mufflers with a custom H pipe. Id be interested to compare the sounds of our cars.
I will try to get some clips but all I have is my camera so I don't know how well it will record and if it even does sound.

On Saturday I also got my exhaust done. I cut the mufflers out added 2.5" mandrel bent tail sections.
(went to Miami muffler they have a mandrel bender its a half million dollar machine) I saw it they actually have 2 one manual one, and one where its all computer conrolled. If anyone wants serious work done and lives near MIA got there.
I added a magnaflow x same as yours but I used Borla 4" double wall slash cut tips.
I have had almost 10 compliments mostly thumbs up out the window on I-95. It is some what tame until you go wide open.
It sounds almost like a Cobra at low throttle. I love how I can wind it up and down with the triptronic.
I can make it quiet when it needs to be. It does not drone at all but it shakes the insides at certain RPMS unless I shift it. One thing that it does is back fire like crazy on wind downs. Other then that Its a new animal.
He quoted me a custom 3"mandrel bent cat back with x for about a grand but I decided to go this rought it was less then half the price.
Sorry to HIJACK :( I will make my own thread with pics and sound clips. However, I am afraid it will not do justice.
Hope you enjoy your new noise. Just drive it a lot it will grow on you!

I had my mufflers cut off prior to the magnaflows, and it sounded ridic loud.
I will have sound clips next week as the digital camcorder is in NJ this week.
Also on a side note, talked to Magnaflow and the suggested I take out the X-pipe and put in the 12468 Tru-X (X-Pipe built in) muffler. So I will go that route but it will be a few weeks as $$ is short right now.

What did he say the Tru-X would do?
The Tru-X will reduce the amount of sound that is produced. They said the way it is now is a more aggressive tone and sound level while changing the X-pipe for the Tru-X will give the same aggressive tone but a reduced sound level. What I have now is basically the 04-07 CTS-V Magnaflow 16636 exhaust (same mufflers and X-pipe).

Im wondering if its worth switching out my H-pipe for that. It has really good reviews online.
I got the 14268 Tru-X Muffler from Mangaflow and will have it put on Oct. 9th as I am out of town on Vac next week. I will try to post sound clips of before and after the X-Pipe to Tru-X Muffler swap.
