On the way back we stay here two days. St Regis Montana
So the first day was 500 miles to this site and then 500 miles to home.
Was a great trip hope to do it again in the near future.
21 year old truck did awesome! Got about 7 mpg and used only 1 qt of oil.

Great pics, Mike. I've driven through Montana on I-90 and taken the train across the northern part of the state, including the Grand Tetons. Beautiful place. Wouldn't want to spend the winter there, though.

Big Poo did good!

Despite living up there for 8 years and coming within 10 miles of Yellowstone a dozen times, I still haven't gone in. Now I want to.

Surprisingly, your trans temp at its max was much cooler than it was in the Escalade while idling in traffic.

TH400, non-lockup converter...HUGE aux tranny cooler, HUGE radiator, HUGE belt driven fan and aux electric fan that comes on when the trucks coolant temp hits 195.

I went to Yellowstone in '94 with the family. We rented a Class C motor home built off a Ford Econoline chassis and it had the 351. I remember my dad complaining how it needed more power and that it kept shifting in and out of overdrive to get up the mountain passes. Looks like Big Poo, being much older now, handled it much better. Of course, with that 454, it's to be expected. :D

Love the pics. Best trip of my life was in '04 with the new V. I know exactly where you took many of those pics...
